Juwara Is Leader Of NDAM

The new party of the former UDP propaganda secretary, Lamin Waa Juwara,the
National Democratic Action Movement(NDAM) has last Saturday name him as
leader with other executive members to run the party.

In a telephone conversation yesterday morning, Mr. Lamin Waa Juwara stated
that he was unanimously selected by the committee members to lead the party.
Other officials of the party include Mr. Abba Sanjally Bojang the son of the
late Sanjally Bojang of Kembujeh as the National Chairman, Mr. Ousainou
Mbenga(USA) as the deputy party secretary general, Mr. Madi K. Ceesay a
journalist with the News and Report Magazine as the Publicity Secretary, Aja
Yafatou Sonko Chairperson Women Wing, Saffie Ceesay(USA?) the Public
Relations Officer, Mbye Sarr(USA?) External Affairs Secretary and Pa Manneh
of Brikama as the Party Youth President. Mr. Juwara further informed The
Point that today, they will be making their formal application to the IEC
for the registration of the party.

When asked by this reporter as to where his party would get its funding, he
replied, ”Well from all Gambians, but the greater contribution will come
from Gambians outside who are bent on bringing democracy back to their home
land, and that is why we have the external wing of the party.”
