Just saw this term being bandied around in some newspaper article. Unless, I
am completely ignorant to the situation on the ground, this is a very recent
term.  I've heard it once before but in that instance, it seemed to have a
negative connotation more along the lines of tribal and class divisions.
This was of course, just an assumption on my part, and therefore, my
interpretation might not be very accurate.

What qualifies someone as a Banjulian?  Is this term accorded because of
ethnicity, place of birth, social status, or simply because one is raised in
Banjul?  Given that this is a genuine inquiry from this end, there is no need
for any overtly defensive answers which seems to be the hallmark of many
Gambians these days.
