Ylva,

No, there is no such established law in The Gambia. Did you know that Islamic
law does infact allow for a couple to draw up a pre-nuptial agreement that
the husband will not marry another wife if the couple agree on this?
There are also no laws passed in Gambia that I am aware that enforces the
payment of child support or the award of alimoney although I do believe Islamic
law also allows for alimony. There are also no laws regarding the fair division
of property when a couple divorces. Women basically have the short end of the
stick in our neck of the woods.
