The 2nd Republic; 2nd Constitutional Amendment; 2nd Coup in Gambia; 2nd
elections; what a farce. The criminal and violent Yahya Jammeh/AFPRC/APRC
regime, hell-bent on further segmenting of Gambia and Gambians, through its
use of terror tactics and violence, are rendering Gambians, youths and adults
alike, as endangered species. As Gambia sinks into a 'DIRIMOCRACY' [a famous
term used by the young chap/lieutenant Yahya Jahanama at the heyday of the
putsch of Jawara, July 22, 1994, to describe the state of nepotism,
arrogance, corruption and Mafia State - hence the AFPRC's ultimate-evil motto
of ACCOUNTABILITY, TRANSPARENCY & PROBITY...what a comical strip perpetrated
of the Gambian public, as we fell for it without reason or judgement. The
constant denial of criminality, violence, terror tactics on civilians,
beggarman-thief syndrome, opportunistic tendencies, constant usurping of the
Peoples Constitution by drafting CYOA [cover your own behind] draconian
indemnities and ultimately, a State of Emergency Decree, this regime,
understands that it's sinking at its core because of filth and stench. In
Kanilai and Banjul, there exist a psychotic and paranoiac survival and damage
control rudderless leadership [victimizers] and the rest of the population
[victims] in tow. Unless, one suffers from selective myopia or amnesia, their
record is indicative of a regime that lacks SELF CONTROL, FRENZIC SELF
DIRECTION, EXPRESSION OF INTIMIDATION & RAGE on its citizens, PSYCHOLOGICAL
CONTAGIA [where the so called leadership, looses their ethical and moral
values and swept away by emotions of survival instincts, by running on auto
pilot, egocentrism and shifting/absent/plural leadership, meaning thereby, a
thuggish group of people that just keep moving-off on their own reasons and
paranoia, with a will to destroy and be violent to any voice of dissent.
Those of us who had reviewed MALTHUS on one hand and ROUSSEAU on the other,
will appreciate my juxtaposition that Yahya and his APRC dogs, believes in
aristocratic/totalitarian/segmented rulership [tribe, class, status, belong
or not belonging, supporter or nonsupporter]. This sick mentality that, one
either supports the regime or, becomes an enemy of 'HIS' state. As Malthus
believed that the population of the sidelined masses were growing at
geometrical ratio while the means of survival, controlled by the 'MANSA's and
their reactionary few, were growing at an arithmetical ratio. The option
given to the masses in England then, was to either die or go somewhere else
[somewhere else was either America or Australia]. The oxymoron, Yahya's,
masterplan is focused on a similar modus operandi for a segmented Gambia,
where most of us are coerced of forced to leave to other African countries,
Europe or Americas and those left behind, will either put up or shut up or
will faced the wrath of Babba-BLOOD DIAMOND Jobe, National Ignoramus Agency
[NIA] or the elite July 22nd thugs.
On the other hand of the equation, ROUSSEAU, recognized the fact that, 'THE
PEOPLE OF A NATION DO NOT EXIST MERELY TO BE RULED, CONTROLLED BY GOVERNMENT
OR RULES OF LAWS, DECREES, INDEMNITIES, STATE OF EMERGENCIES, OR COUP D'ETAT,
FORCIBLY IMPOSED ON THEM.' THE GOVERNMENT ULTIMATELY IS A CREATION OF THE
PEOPLE AND ENTERS INTO A CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT/RELATIONS AND AT THE
FOUNDATIONS OF THE CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT IS RECIPROCITY, THAT OF GIVE AND
TAKE THAT WOULD PERMIT THE GOVERNMENT CERTAIN POWERS AND LIBERTY IN RETURN
FOR CERTAIN SERVICES IT WILL PROVIDE FOR THE PEOPLE. AS brother Halifa Sallah
keeps reminding Gambians: THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT THERE TO RULE OR DOMINATE THE
PEOPLE BUT TO SERVE THE PEOPLE AND AS LONG AS THE GOVERNMENT IS ABLE TO MEET
AND SERVE THE DEMANDS OF ITS MANDATES, THEN IT WILL RULE. BUT IF IT VIOLATES
ITS END OF THE MANDATE AND VIOLATES THE RECIPROCITY, THEN PEOPLE WILL BEGIN
TO QUESTION WHETHER TO OBEY ITS RULINGS AND TO PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE
GOVERNMENT.
This is what we are facing in Gambia now and under such circumstances, an
uncompromising and directed/focused CIVIC CHALLENGE AND REVOLT, becomes the
last resort and instrument of influence, because of its wholesome
effectiveness. By this I mean, CHALLENGE TO AUTHORITY, REFUSAL TO GO ALONG
ANYMORE, whereas, one went along in the past, as a statement about the
legitimacy of authority.
I know that, some amongst us will try to admonish me for advocating such
sentiments and therefore, try to deny the violent nature of this regime,
hence come up with all kinds of pious and 'cacameme' nonsensical statements
against the issue. This will not solve the problem.  Ultimately, we'll have
to face the bull, Yahya and his regime, by the horn, as the system employs
extralegal means, in cahoots with the spineless Attorney General's and short
circuiting of political channels within a scheme of political confinements.
Behind the laws, rules, indemnities and inter police networks, lies the
monopoly on wanton brute force, terror tactics, intimidation and violence, an
instrument used and abused by APRC to crush dissent.
