would like to repeat the suggestion for taking newspaper advertisements
demanding justice for the massacred school children. I think it is an
important statement we can make for a modest cost. I will contact editors at
The Point and Independent Newspapers tomorrow 4-9-02 for a quotation and the
nature of the text. I will report to Gambia-l on the feedback from the papers
and also submit a text of the ad for list members to see. Similarly i will
contact the coordinators of the Massacre Action Plan fund we raised here on
Gambia-L to see if we can use some of the remaining funds to pay for the
ads.I believe it falls within the parameters on which the funds were
originally solicited but i will also gladly make a separate contribution for
this ad if that is deemed appropriate. In that case list members can also send
in their contributions to the coordinators. One snag we may run into is the
fact that neither The Independent nor the Point newspapers are dailies. I am
not sure if they publish either on Wednesdays or Thursdays. I will find out.
Karamba
