Remember that Museveni recently warned one of the priests in the disaster area in the north, (also an Italian) to leave the north or face the consequences.

Since then, this is the third priest to be killed - all missionaries.

Best regards,

Nyar'Onyango

COMBONI MISSIONARY KILLED

Comboni missionary Father Luciano Fulvi was found dead this morning in his room in the mission of Layibi, on the outskirts of Gulu, North Uganda. New details have emerged since on the circumstances of the death of the missionary. It was around 9:21, when 76-year-old Fr. Fulvi, originally from the diocese of Pescia, in the province of Lucca (Italy), went to bed and it is probably around the time that his assailants - one or more people, it is unknown - surprised him. MISNA sources refer that a confrere, who had noticed the door to his room open tried to call him, without any response from Fr. Fulvi. Thinking he was asleep, the confrere closed his door. Only this morning, when Fr. Fulvi did not show up for mass and that neither his bicycle nor car had been touched, his confreres went to look for him in his room, where they found him in a puddle of blood. MISNA sources refer that the assassins may have entered the mission climbing a wall that divides the courtyard from a eucalyptus forest. It is fairly frequent that the people of the surrounding area seek refuge in the mission at night from fears of an attack by the rebels of the LRA (lord's Resistance Army). In this case the responsibilities still must be verifies, given that it could have been an act of banditry.
