Joe Sambou,

Try "Bitter Gourd". The Indians eat a vegetable called bitter gourd which
tastes exactly like Jahatou, although shaped differently. It is otherwise known
as dishcloth gourd, or luffah which is used as a bath sponge but the young
tender fruit is what is used as a vegetable before it matures into the "luffah"
stage. For their scientific classification, Gourds belong to the Cucurbitaceae
family. They are vegetable closely related to squashes and pumpkins and have a
range of shapes and sizes, with some of the shapes resembling the shape of
the Jahatu. Maybe a long shot but since i am no horticulturist, you can ask at
the Plant sciences/horticulture department of a local university to see if
Jahatu belongs in this family.
