<<These agreements establish the foundation for a deeper relationship with
Air Senegal International, currently the fastest growing airline in West
Africa. It will also give Kenya Airways an important foothold in the
expansive West African market," said Jason Kapkirwok, KQ Director for group
strategy and industrial affairs.>>

Very significant development especially in light of Air France's strategy to
acquire troubled Francophone-based airlines such as Air Afrique and Air
Ivoire. French monopoly of the west african skies would be undesirable and
an expensive proposition for the travelling public. Air Senegal entered
into a partnership with Royal Air Maroc to form Air Senegal International
(51%,49%) to compete with Air France fill the void left by the demise of Air
Afrique. Regional economic integration practiced.
