Saul, you read the situation properly. I have never seen a more bogus
'charge sheet'. It is ridiculous to say the least that Kanteh (or any sane
person for that matter) will plot in this way to overthrow a government.
Like I said if you also knew Saul Ndow, you will also realize how ridiculous
Barrow's statements are regarding Saul Ndow. I am sure people that know Dumo
well are equally flabbergasted by some of the revelations from the Italian
rat and Barrow. The pathological liars could not even tell a straight story.
If they are having problems shooting straight in a Cautionary Statement,
imagine how they will fare under rigorous cross-examinations from legal
luminaries like Ousainou Darboe, Ousman Sillah and Emanuel Joof. This case
should be dismissed from court forthwith and the citizens compensated for
the illegal incarceration. This is nothing but political persecution. We
have POLITICAL PRISONERS in The Gambia.

I am not surprised they tried to railroad Kanteh as well. I will not put it
beyond Baabaa Jobe and his despicable brother. Let us also remember the role
Abdoulie Kujabi (NIA) played. He is the one who took the Italian rat to
Yaya. I hope Kanteh comes out in the Senegalese press and straighten some of
these stories out. I also hope that journalists back home talk to the
Americans to verify Sanyang's story. Sanyang made a very damning allegation
against the Americans.

Saul, what is happening to Emanuel Joof is very sad. I highlighted the story
twice on G_L just to sensitize people about what is going on here. As Kats
said, this is nothing but a witch-hunt. It is important that we take notice
of such abuses and publicize them. That is the best way we can protect the
victims. One can convincingly argue that had it not been for the way Mrs.
Saho publicized the Dumo et al case, those citizens would have been
railroaded a long time ago and convicted for offenses they did not commit.

I was glad yesterday when I saw the force (Ousman Sillah, Mariam Denton,
Mary Samba, Lamin Jobarteh, Baa Tambedou and Amie Joof) that descended on
the court to defend Emanuel Joof. If you ask me, this was an overkill for
the lowly Police Officer that was prosecuting Joof. But this is the spirit.
When one of the Good people are attacked, all the Good forces should come
out to combat the Evil people. Combat them with venom. Show them that siding
with evil carries a heavy price. Joof's team should have no mercy on this
police officer and the vermin behind him that are pushing this case. I pray
for Joseph Joof's sake that his name does not feature anywhere in this
pogrom.

Saul, this is a pathetic case as well. I called some people that were in The
Gambia when this accident happened to ask them about the case, and their
revelations will make you want to laugh and cry at the same time. Laugh,
because of how ridiculous the case is. Cry, because of the way Joof is being
railroaded. As I understand it, the accident involved here happened two and
a half years ago. Does it take the police this long to prepare a 'careless
driving' case? I hope the journalists in the country also ask Joof and his
team what actually happened in the accident. Or better still, I hope it
would soon be revealed in court (for everyone to see) what actually happened
in this case. When everything is said and done, I am sure it will be
revealed that Joof should have been given a medal for almost losing his life
while working as a magistrate for next to nothing. While people like Joseph
Joof (that had government scholarships) were 'enjoying' the fruits of
private legal practice, Emanuel (whose education was sponsored by his
father's UN job) was selflessly working for the government as a magistrate
being paid a meager salary. He was given a dilapidated vehicle and posted to
Lower River Division and NBD. This same period, mental midgets like Yaya who
have never given an honest day's work to the Gambian public, were living at
taxpayers' expense driving expensive vehicles. For now, I will not get into
what actually happened at the accident. But I am confident that the police
and the AG chambers know that Emanuel was NOT 'careless'.

This is a witch-hunt. I hope the brother stays strong. I hope his supporters
stay intact. My heart goes out to his family and friends. It is sad that the
people that stand up to defend defenseless citizens in The Gambia are picked
on and persecuted by the State. NIA thugs have threatened the man's life on
numerous occasions. All for what? He advocates Human Rights in the country.
He has NEVER committed a crime against anyone. He is NOT a politician. Very
humble man. Has immense integrity. Just doing what he believes in. If there
was another government there doing the same things these criminals are
doing, Joof would still be saying what he is saying. I am sure he does not
hate the people that are persecuting him. He is a genuine Human Rights
advocate. Ebrima Ceesay will remember that even at the heat of the moment in
1994/95 Joof had a column in the Observer writing about Human Rights. He
decided to specialize in his Masters degree in Human Rights Law even BEFORE
Yaya et al stole power from a democratically elected government in 1994. So,
this man is NOT an anti-government per se. He is merely following his
calling. I am confident that he will have the last laugh. Evil will NEVER
thrive over Good.

Saul, thanks for caring about the man. He is fighting for all of us.
