Congratulations Baba Galleh and the ladies and gentlemen of the Independent
Newspaper. As I said here a week or so ago, despite all the harassment that
various members of your staff have been subject to, you have continued to be the
voice of the Gambian people through these unbelievable times in the history
of our country. You are a credit to the profession and an example to our people
that compromising on the truth is never an option if we want a just and fair
society.
