Disclaimer: I am speaking as Musa JEng, and whatever I say here has nothing to do with the position of STGDP.

Mr. Ceesay:

You seem to be engaging in the same tactic that you alleged cost Pa Nderry his Job, allowing yourself to be used by agenda driven advocate to scapegoat others and elevate their position….. Whatever conversation you have had with Kebba Foon moons ago, and I am not going to question the veracity of your allegations. What took you so long and why now? To conveniently suggest that this was a cook up conspiracy by no other than Kebba foon and Pa Nderry is suspect, and I am sure is false. An agenda driven opportunist was able to convince you with this lie, and you decided to take what ever conversation you have had with Kebba to validate this lie and attack his credibility.

Let me tell you about this very NADD that all of you “Johnny come lately” are jumping all over the place. Kebba was one of the pioneers that invested time, energy, finances to jump start the process and now we have NADD as a reality. It was a lonely Saturday afternoon that KEbba Foon and Joe Sambou jumped at an opportunity when the political leaders were brought to Atlanta by AGERA – “meet the Diaspora summit”. )There were lots of Gambians in the US who made this summit a reality and I am not going to name all the individuals involved, but these two folks tirelessly brought these leaders to Morehouse the Saturday after the summit and introduced the coalition idea. Out of that meeting NADD was born, and so was STGDP. Kebba became the Chairman of STGDP, and trust me there was a reason for choosing him. From day one he was committed to the NADD idea; he has spoken to the leaders zillion times and to suggest that he had an agenda against Ousainou Darboe is false, and that is not to say that he has not been critical of Mr. Darboe fairly or unfairly. Does he have his partisan leanings? I am sure he does, and that includes everyone in the group. Within the core group in STGDP, at this particular juncture, we are driven by first and foremost to select a flag Bearer, and ultimately remove Jammeh from office. We have individuals supporting different NADD leaders, and we understood that going in, but for anyone to suggest that NADD is having problems because of some conversation you have had with Kebba foon, and he made disparaging remarks of Mr. Darobe, and wolla here is our problem, is dishonest. There is calculated efforts by individuals who are absolutely convince that Mr. Darboe was unfairly treated, and I believe that to be a fact because OJ was never selected as the Flag Bearer and Mr. Darboe stood against it. These folks are fighting back, and I am absolutely certain you are going to be one of their conduits to help them in the process.

As the wolllof will say, “Poul ba feyut Narr bi koromam": meaning the Fula man has not properly settled his debt with the Mauritanian shop keeper. Kebba Foon has given a whole lot to this effort, and it is utterly dishonest and unfair to repay him by making him the scapegoat. Mr. Ceesay, there are interest groups and your profession would be yanked in all direction. What is happening within NADD has always been our fear, and the jockeying is part of the political process, this is the not pretty aspects of democracy, but it is important to allow the process to unfold and let the chips fall. The fundamental question is: what price is anyone of these leaders and their supporters are willing to pay to remove Jammeh and bring about the democracy we need to build for the new Gambia?

Have a nice day.

Musa Jeng
