"Yes Indeed and for every illegally-detained Gambian of whatever political or non-political group". Bailo

What can i say Bailo, i agree totally.

"Left to Foroya's paper based or editorial challenge alone, the named people you have mentioned are in detention for a long time." Yanks

" At least Foroyaa is not responsible for the detention of any Gambian. The APRC regime is!" Bailo

Of course they're not!

"Yahya Jammeh does not read Foroya, even though he reads Freedom newspaper. It is therefore worth raising such issues on freedom than Foroya." Yanks

"What else does he read or not read? It's no big deal. Foroyaa is writing for who ever wishes to read it. If a particular Gambian does not read Foroyaa, so what's the big deal about that. Thousands other Gambians rely on Foroyaa for authoritative news". Bailo

Bailo, it's defintely no big deal to read Foroya, I don't read and its out my own volition. However, where one challenges an illegal conduct of a particular individual, then it becomes imperative for their messages to get to that person regarding his actions. In that vein a paper that cannot deliver such messages is rendered worthless towards that animus.

"Besides, it is worth reminding that Foroya, since i first came to know them, i have always known them of challenging one thing or the other and i bet they will continue to do so. But i have never known them of defeating any such challenges." Yanks

"It's noble to challenge injustice and autocracy, that's part of what Foroyaa have been doing since its inception. Sorry for you if you have qualms over that. Tough nuts are very hard to crack but Foroyaa is urged to keep on challenging whatever needs challenging. We should be wary of swift victory; Perseverence, endurance and resilience! Well done and congrats for defeating your challenges." Bailo

Contrarily, Bailo, i have no qualms or whatsoever with the noble aims of fighting injustice and autocracy. But i have qualms about that being related to the doings of Foroya since its inception.
Nonetheless thanks for the congrats, you know very well that i'm not a loser. I'm a winner! That's my motor against challenges!

"The only reason that paper out lived the Independent newspaper, newcitizen and other news outlets in the Gambia, is because, Foroya is not as bold as others in the face of oppression." Yanks

"The challengings are not about boldness. What is your measure of boldness? Foroyaa may not be as bold as your Freedom forum but at least you have unwittingly admitted that they are bold. Some papers are bolder though! Journalism and the dissemination of information cannot be reduced to relative theories on boldness". Bailo

The noble profession of Journalism cannot be reduced to relative theories on boldness, i love that quote Bailo. However, it cannot be based on the distortion of truth out fear for oppression. It should be the other way round. Have you ever had of the quote:

"Heroes are not descended from cowards". Socrates.

Media is a powerful tool and if you ask me, i will tell you Jammeh's biggest fear is information. That's the reason why the first person he kicked out of Gambia, shortly after the 22 July 1994, was the then Proprietor of the Daily Observer Kenneth Best followed by Observer's then Editor in Chief Mohammed E Sead.

'Such was the reason why Deyda was shot and Halifa still writes." Yanks

"What are you trying to say? Halipha was writing since many years before Deyda was murdered. So should he stop because Deyda (may his soul R.I.P) was shot and killed? Or is it that Halipha wasn't shot because he wasn't critical enough. Think about your logic. It simply doesn't make sense. Is the pen not mightier than the sword? Let Halipha write and let Ousainou argue to make a living. Every Gambian deserves to earn a living in dignity without being shot or forced into exile". Bailo

Bailo, the logic makes sense from your own presumption and that is, Halifa is not critical enough. Even Pa Nderry is more critical than him, yet he has been in the Gambian potilics ten years older than Ousainou. Ousainou's political Career started in 1996, Halifa since 1987. He has witnessed the politcs of both republics. Yet, this old political guru is "as cold as ice, not willing to sacrifice"!

"Every Gambian deserves to earn a living in dignity without being shot or forced into exile". Bailo

On the other hand, Bailo even you sound bolder with this sentence than your master has been for the past donkey years.

"Needless to say with all the educational crededentials they claimed to have been awarded, they were never awarded any for journalism." Yanks

"The Awards Acquisition Syndrome again! Awards, congragulations, recognitions are motivators and not necessarily indicators. Dr, Alhagie, Field Marshall, Conqueror, Bold, are nice titles indeed!" Bailo

Nice titles indeed, the only shame is that professor Halifa is not a journalist but a "Join-the-lister!

"Bailo"

Just don't bring the roof down Bailo!

It's your Brethren!

Yanks.
