Dear Opposition Leaders:

It is a moment of reckonning in The Gambia and as
such, we must seek unity in trying to undress the
dictator of kaninlai. Our individual political
moves will backfire on our faces on the unfortunate
day of October. We will be wondering, what the heck
has happened to our struggle?

After meeting with Hon. Hamat Bah, Messrs Ousainou
Darboe and Halifa Sallah, I am of the opinion that
the opposition needs a united front against the
military government of The Gambia. I must admit that
I was impressed by brother Hamat Bah, and will follow
my instinct in calling for the opposition to unite.
It will not make sense for me to endorse a single
opposition party. I believe that all the opposition
leaders are sincere in their individual effort to
unseat the dictator.

In reflecting on issues or historical nature of
Gambian political analysis, I am of the belief
that righteousness and the ability to say the truth will help us in our struggle. While we seek to fight a stuggle, it is disturbing that some of our comrades
are bent on the desire of promoting an individual
candidate. This I believe will be the culprit in
christening another five years of dictator yahya
jemus.

I am not here to propagate a political theory of
indifference, but I am here to reflect a moment of
truth. Going back to the years of Sir Dawda, I must
remind my comrades that the selfish had played a vital
role in prolonging the bitterness between our elder
statesman and Hon. S.M.Dibba. As a crusader of
democracy, I am called to engage our citizens in
illustrating in a finer and sincere tone that the
opposition has failed in speaking with one tongue. It
is disturbing that most of our comrades have chosen
sides at the expense of calling for a united front
against Gambian dictator.

My decision to choose a road of consciousness in our
interpretation of our political decision is rooted in
the area of one Gambia and one tribe. We are at
cross-roads in our plight to find better solutions for
a yahyaless Gambia. The opposition I emphatically
reiterate, is wasting valuable resources and cannot
afford to be disjointed.

What are we going to do after the dictator steals the
election? Why endorse a candidate and give him a
free ride only to get disappointed in the unfortunate
day of October? Please let us smell a rotten thing
coming out of kaninlai. Our inability to unite will
yield another five years of terror by the political
tyrant. Tribal policals will add insult to our
intended stuggle for a better Gambia.

I hereby by stand by my decision to abtain from
endorsing a single opposition party. I cannot
consciously waste valuable time in contributing to
our eventual defeat.

Long live democracy and down with dictator yahya jemus. I must remind you that dictator yahya jemus
is the worst thing that has ever happened to
The Gambia.

Naphiyo,

Comrade ML Jassey-Conteh
Greensboro, NC/Kombo East Constituency
