Thanks Maaremu Bamba Laye, Mawdo Yero, Brother Cherno et Al,

Well the truth shall always prevail.

The problem is that many nonentities have used the cover of freedom of speech/expression to impose their intolerant dictatorial trash on people for too long.

They got away with a lot of trash and then felt omnipotent and indispensable. No one was showing them their limits and there are a lot of stupid people out there who BLINDLY consume such trash anyway.

As Liberal Progressive Democrats we accommodate them but we have the duty to cut them to size if they want to threaten our Social Cohesion in the name of free speech, public scrutiny, intolerance, double standards, hypocrisy, debates and so on.

I for one say NEVER AGAIN. If at all I acted swiftly and stopped that hypocrisy over GPU/CCG supposed conflict of interest some nonentities would not have taken it out of context until it caused harm to livelihood.

The question is who are worse? those who are fantasizing before their keyboards in USA, Europe and spreading lies or those who are living like thoroughbred Palace Horses abroad but using their busy schedule, brain cells and at times personal funds to practice responsible communications and show sincere solidarity with all those who DESERVE IT?

As for Jabiyong Ndey like I said my primary Princely hubby as Casanova is to fish out QUALITY LADIES and any Lady who got my Princely Seal of Quality has proven before God and Man that she deserves it out of merit.

Some of the people ranting here and there do not know the technical and even financial expertise Jabiyong Ndey extended to many entities in The Gambia from cultural groups, civil society groups to political parties.

I have EVIDENCE OF JABIYONG NDEY supporting the United Democratic Party (UPD) in some non-violent STRATEGIC planning. Other opposition parties too benefited from her expertise.

What Jabiyong Ndey has done in helping UDP (United Democratic Party) some of those people disturbing our peace have not done a fraction of that.

I have the contact details of Lawyer Ousainou Darboe and if he gives me the clearance I will publish the details. I am not a liar who shares false information with readers for the sake of cheap fame.

But I hope I will not be pushed to that corner. I hope I will also not be pushed to name the time, date and details of support (financial and technical) Jabiyong Ndey extended to other opposition parties, civil society groups and other individuals.

From my own side, I can say that I am the first journalist to give Lawyer Ousainou Darboe a FULL Page interview on The Point Newspaper days after the launch of their party. At their Brikama launch/rally I was dancing on top of the vehicle carrying Ousainou Darboe until people thought I was a member of UDP and firebrand youth mobilizer/ strategist.

I also interviewed Lawyer Darboe for the Voice of America (VOA).

I can say for certain I was like a mid-wife who witnessed the birth of UDP and gave it some initial media related exposure. I was there when APRC, NRP all came about.

Am also the FRIST GRTS Producer to cover the Congress of PDOIS party and ran it on GRTS TV news bulletin on Gambian prime time (20:00 PM). The records are there.

So if people think that my solidarity with CCG is a one-off thing or that I am a member that is why I am aggressively fighting in solidarity with it, they are damned wrong. Same applies to Jabiyong Ndey. There are a lot of people across the political spectrum who can tell me what Jabiyong has done for them.

Yes I for one I am living Princely well and if I go to Africa I am accorded Royal Privileges. I did not buy it from a shop with Gambian Tax Money and I owe nobody an explanation on my distinguished status/spoilt boy lifestyle. Most of those Nigerian/African film stars salute me behind the scenes as they know what I did not for them. I did not join the Pan African Creative Industry in (as of 2004) for fame on the spotlight/frontline but I joined for Africa Cultural Renaissance, Money, Clout and above all behind-the-scene RESPECT.

In the case of the GAMCOTRAP, I am the first and only person to contribute One Thousand Euros (1000 Euros/ approx. 37,000 Gambian Dalasis). The last time I checked, some people with big mouths could not fulfill their smaller pledges on time. I humbly requested Fatou JM not to mention my received contribution again on Maafanta.com and in due course all my financial contributions to worthy causes will be anonymous.

In the case of Journalist Pa Modou Bojang I wanted to remain anonymous. It was my Cousin Haruna who convince me to come open. Cousin am I right or wrong?

I have nothing to hide but I just want to show that I am not one of those people who do things and then brag about it openly. I just make reference HERE to diffuse the mess planted on the brains of peoples that my CCG support could be a coded message that I am a member and no other entity benefitted from my sincere solidarity before CCG.

Anyway Mawdo Yoro as you know Jabiyong Ndey is NUMBER 2 on my Quality List and these days it is her "turn" in my Royal Household. OOPS! You know what I mean. Laughs.

But we will reach a Gentleman's Agreement and we can negotiate behind the scenes. There are other hot ladies on my list.

Thanks and welcome to the side of the COALITION OF WARRIORS AGAINST HYPOCRISY, DOUBLE MORAL AND INTOLERANCE.

I hope this CCG/GPU topic is closed. There is a limit to every goddam thing in life including my Liberal Open-Mindedness. I not afraid of throwing missiles that can hit my own house (collateral damage) as know I can build a bigger and better one afterwards.

My Brother Cherno Fankung on the issue of elites, well they are often seen as scapegoats but there are exceptions. I have nothing against social elevations but some people once they attain certain level, they spend their time and energy pouring their trash out against the elites they found.

I am a proud Responsible Elite. I am also aware of my Social Responsibility as an Elite and this is why I am tirelessly fighting for Tolerance, Solidarity, Compassion and Responsibility be it moral, material, financial, you name it.

Enjoy the July 4th.

Warmest,

Prince B. Sankanu

Betreff: Re: [G_L] In Defense of Sister Ndey

Prince, Cherno, et al:

I join Prince in defending Jabiyong Ndey. Both I and Prince are greatly conflicted, because we are both in love with Ndey --I mean to the core! Suntou should have known better on this one, or at least spare us with this seeming style of extinguishing the fires lighting up the walk-way paths for all of us. Out of all people, why would it be Ndey? Ndey went to exile because of her stance against injustices. She could have chosen to stay home and dine with the dictator, but no, she chose to be with the oppressed. Knowing the little that I know, the Ndey class of people are great targets for Yaya Jammeh. Jammeh would have wished to have Ndey to her side, but history is a living witness to the pressure and defiance Ndey mounted when her colleagues (my favorite line -the GPU 6) were arrested.

I want to remind Suntou of this quote on Maafanta about a month ago, "Thou shall not mess with a girl!" I happen to disagree with Uncle Suntou entirely on his take on Ndey. Also, our Laye's characterization of Suntou is a serious misnomer. I believe Suntou is just that opinionated fellow who likes to participate in a wide variety of topics, some of them sensitive, others just sweet. There are times when the ball dropped like any human being but my overall observation to a greater extent, he just wants to participate. A simple re-directing of his efforts will just do it, and that is why I like LJD’s redirecting way in these debates. If Suntou drinks 'wonjoh', he is as calm as a dove. Nonetheless, I am still proud of my nephew Suntou. I am wearing the gloves to support him as well.

Humor aside, I think Ndey is a great figure. The woman is a true jabiyong. I greatly admire her defiance. If I were to advice her before the elections, I would have said one term is enough. Regards to her participation on CCG, I personally do not see any problem or conflict with it. We are fighting a dictatorship and whatever mechanism is at our disposal, so shall we use, including any means available and necessary. Ndey recognized her entitlement as a member of the Diaspora constituent and she is exercising that to the fullest like any of us. Dr. Janneh can be charged with treason all that Jammeh wants, that doesn't make him or Ndey a criminal. Remember, today on July 4th as we celebrate America's independence, we are again reminded by the virtues of fighting for what is right and a just cause. The founding fathers of America were all charged with treason under the British constitution. They won because they were loaded with a true passion for their country. They won because they were united. They won because they were selfless. They won because they put country first and self/family last.

On that note again, I am humbly appealing to all parties involved in this debate to move onto other things that will benefit all.

Happy 4th!

Yero
