Kudos to AGERA for bringing former president Jawara to Atlanta, and offering him the opportunity to address a diverse group of Gambians, in the sort of atmosphere that the organization is known to provide. 
At the risk of pre-empting him, I am hoping he would announce that the proceeds from his highly acclaimed autobiography would be donated to the long suffering Gambians; whom he has ruled peacefully, but without inspiration or aspiration for almost 30 years. Such a gesture would go some way pacifying the many disappointed compatriots, who view his recent actions as gross betrayal.
