Edi, such cooperation should be utmost importance, especially for those of us
in the Diaspora. Granted such cooperation with donor countries exist,
shouldn't we be concerned with the question[s] of How, Where, Why and Whom
are these grants, loans, aid or whatever pronouncement fits, are directed to?
With the unanswered showoff, of military jets and the senseless massive
buildup of the police and military industrial complex in poor Gambia,
questions must be raised from all angles.
Clowns like Gassa, do not understand the level of frustrations faced by
Gambians, especially those with direct relations with International
multilateral Agencies, when it comes to Gambia getting its fair share of the
pie. Its citizens had been held hostage for the past seven years, by
knuclehead military brats and conditioned bureaucrats and technocrats. The
conditioning of present day Gambians, couldn't be better than described by:
Pavlovian dogs and Skinner rats. There exist a deep sense of Apathy and
hopelessness in the Gambia, due to the perpetrated and co-opted sense of
power relationship, between the current regime and its supporters vs. the
rest. The "KU NEH MBAAM DUUL" or "STATE OF FEAR" mantra, implanted into the
hopeless /helpless population during the heyday of July 22, 1994, hyped up to
the roof, with the gruesome killing of its Minister, Koro Ceesay as a lesson
to the rest: EITHER, YOU'RE WITH US, OR YOU'RE OUT; The concocted hoax[s]
[NAHAY MBOW] of attempted coup and the ultimate sacrifice and massacre of
soldiers at Yundum Barracks, then the charges and indefinite detention of
Dumo, Jaiteh et al. in the name of National Police/MilitarySecurity State.
What a joke.
If your education is not about gaining real power, not jobs, because your
jobs do not represent real power; not getting elected to office; fine
clothes; cars; or houses. If it is not about representing real power, you're
being miseducated & mislead, hence, you will die educated and mislead. If
your analysis of African issues is merely an exercise of feeling good about
yourself and your immediate surrounding, then you will die feeling good. AMOS
WILSON
