Notes:

The new moon birth on December 14, 2001 is at 3:47 p.m., Eastern Standard
Time - 12:47 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, 20:47 Greenwich/Universal Time. On
December 14, there would be an annular solar eclipse visible in Central
America and partial solar eclipse in North America, and on that day it is
impossible to see the crescent moon anywhere on the globe. On Dec 14, the
moon will not be born at Maghrib time of all places in Asia, Africa, and
Europe. It will not be above horizon at Maghrib time at almost all places
east of Chicago. Even in Los Angeles, CA the moon sets 4 minutes after
sunset. This moon is impossible to be seen anywhere in the world. On Dec 15,
in North America, the age of the moon is 24-28 hours at sunset. This moon,
still on Dec 15, would be difficult to see in North America, because the moon
is in Southern Hemisphere. However, it is expected that Southern Belt of USA
would be able to see this moon on Dec 15. In South America, it should be
easily seen. Therefore Eid-ul-Fitr in North and South America should be on
12/16/2001 (Sunday). For additional reference visit: www.moonsighting.com
