Sister Jabou, I agree with you. I have no base knowledge as to how
registration goes but based on Ebrima's sources' comment, i definately think
all these promises are ploys.
I believe if they (IEC) actually wanted to include our (Gambians
Abroad)votes in the forth-coming elections, they should have started the
process by now considering the cost involve.Come-on guys this is May and the
general elections are slated for October. Even if they are to start now, i
believe we are absolutely running out of time. If Mr. Manneh's report that
the IEC needed at least 3 months to re-register all Gambians in the
Gambia,then how much time do they need to find out which parts of the world
are Gambians populated and again when are they starting the process of
registering these Gambians living abroad? Because i know US alone could take
more than three months if all eligible voters wanted to register.
Anyway i hope(like Ebrima's sources' said)the oppositions take heed to this.
