UNITED NATIONS  DECADE FOR OCEAN EXPLORATION,THE GAMBIA/SENEGAL-LAWS OF THE
SEA?

OPTV is back and always ready to say no to mad Yahya's fabrications and
unsavoury methods.

a)-UN Decade For Ocean Exploration in 1975 cordinated research programs of
all world marine resources in all the oceans of the world,aspects of it
dealt with the geological surveys of the sea bed of the oceans around the
world.This research program was led by Dr Everett a renowned geologist,who
has done a lot in that particular field.Unlike the french diver Costeau
scientists like Dr Everett spend their time digging beyond the sea bed
therefore are first class geologists.Dr Everett was the director of the
geology Dept of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.The latter and Dr
David Ross participated in almost every international research program that
was related to the above.These two were the most outstanding and respected
marine geological research scientists at that time and their results are
still helping brains around the world.
During those days these two renowned scientists had a Gambian working with
them as research assistant(name with held for now).This man's outstanding
performance speaks for itself. OPTV is currently working on linking him
with other West African countries where large deposits have been found and
there are no border problems envisaged!

 USA UNDER NIXON STARTED THE STUDIES WITH UN.
President Nixon in view of the above gave an order to some of these experts
to explore resources of the continental US shelves. A company called
petroleum Institute was also involved in that broad scheme,however
contorversies rose thus questions were asked,that is,what kind of impact
did such activities have to their fisheries?Ultimately the research was
diversified. Countries like the USA do not just swallow what a leader sends
out on the air waves like that! Nixon unlike our mad man back home first
listened to his people before closing himself behind the curtains with
crude versions from the scientists.Public opinion matters in democratic
socities because it is the public funds that scientists use to conduct
researches. Researches are usually framed within risks.They either reveal a
lot of fortune or open up further challenges.People should always approach
issues like that with an open  mind.In The Gambia today mad Yahya sees any
person who refuses to nod his head when he!  talks about the oil discovery
as someone unpatriotic! We have even started seeing some funny and gullible
people  supporting that point just because oil, to those people, means the
city of ELDORADO!
So OPTV says to mad Yahya you are liar brother!!! This research was started
while you were busy wrestling in Kanilai.Yahya you so shallow that you
should be last to speak on issues like this.Look at this funny soul trying
to ridicule everyone and then posing on the GRTS as if he was diving in the
ocaen digging the holes and drilling the wells with his dirty Jujus.Gambia!

WHEN JAWARA KNEW...
In November 1985 was the first time in Gambian history that a documented
evidence presenting the findings of Dr Evrett and Ross were announced to
former president Jawara's inner circle.
The research document announcing those prospects was hand delivered to the
late Alhaji AB Njie who was the minister of external affairs then.His
Exellency AB Njie was at the UN building attending the 1985 UN general
assembly,when he received that paper.During that trip AB Njie was
accompanied by Inspector of Police Mr Evans and an official who is
currently working under mad Yahya(name with held).We do not want him to be
asked to say what he might have even forgotten.OPTV has the hard facts in
our files and can certainly reveal the diplomat's name within a second.
Scientifically the researchers revealed the potentials that existed in
different parts of the world to the respective governments within whose
territories they were found. These were only prospects and further studies
continued to take place.Many of those governments  sponsored further
studies and research programs along those lines. Indeed Sir Dawda in all
honesty could not approach Gambians with a project like tha! t! when they
could not even have a TV and a good radio station in place. The
justifications that the Jawara government gave was that our economy was too
weak to maintain a TV station.Was he right or wrong?
It is a tough question when one looks at what is taking place back home at
the moment?
Ofcourse the TV is not responsible of the ailing economy we have now,it
still needs a sound budget in order to be able to function as an
independent body or a reliable parastatal that can be an impartial media
out let!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The TV could have also helped raise funds if it was not a tool used to
promote FATAMPAF and endless night dances at Kanilai!
GAMTV spends two hours showing Gambians, mad Yahya and his daughter playing
with corrocodiles and hyenas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe that is what our
sad souls call level playing field in Banjul.Goodness! mad Yahya's cronies
asking for a level playing field from Radio Tam-
Tam.Nooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Life is full of wonders and these wonders
shall never cease because people like mad Yahya are part of life's process!

When OPTV sees mad Yahya trying to mystify this oil discovery it appears
very sad because this is not funny.Our people are suffering because a mad
man is riding on their backs with a bloody axe!

LET US FUTHER RIDICULE MAD YAHYA'S WAY OF TRYING TO MYSTIFY HIMSELF ON THIS
OFF SHORE OIL THING,HE IS SICK!!!!!!!!!!
Before 1975,in the 50s also, surveys that were conducted by shell oil
company found natural gas deposits in the Gambia! However they declared
that those deposits were not commercially viable.The oil business is an
expensive one and cannot be at no cost to the country concerned.Some times
the researches involved,the drilling,the payment of expatriates etc etc
ends up putting contracts before our people that may not worth the while!
ALREADY RUMOURS ARE RIFE THAT!!! AN OIL COMPANY HAS OR IS ABOUT TO SIGN A
CONTRACT WITH MAD YAHYA AND CRONIES WHICH WILL ONLY ALLOW GAMBIANS TO
BENEFIT FROM 3% OF THE RETURNS? OPTV invites Gambians to be involved in the
on going investigations as from this second! Even if the oil exists and it
is to be drilled in 50 years time,some mad leader can sign undoable
agreements that can make our poor people sink further more! Such contracts
or anything of national interest should under normal circumstances not!!!
be signed in a caravan that leaks when it ! rains, or near night dancers!
Sometimes making a name!!! can urge mad leaders to enter into so-called oil
drilling when their people will only benefit from big talk.We do not want
to be going round the world saying that we are from Gambia the country
where there are large oil deposits while we still have almudus loitering
our streets! The social welfare cannot stop the almudus!!! it is effective
planning,sound and dynamic resdistributive policies that can save our poor
children.OPTV wants to challenge mad Yahya's cronies and ask them what
happened to the kids who were eating from garbage in Kotu?
Well if the money they should have used is resevred for mad Yahya's great
grand sons and daughters then they must eat from garbage!!!!!!!!!

Gambians have been working very  hard all over the world,so if any crony
comes on line saying that Gambians in the diaspora should work I want to
the cronies to know thatliterally, it was the Gambian working with Dr.Ross
and Everett who handed over the above mentioned research document to
Dr.White a Gambian geologist in 1975,when mad Yahya was wrestling in Foni
Bwiam. Many of us on line remember Dr White.He taught in many schools
before reaching the geology department in the Gambia. His records are still
in Armitage High School my Alma!

LAWS OF THE SEA AND HOW MAD YAHYA WILL LEAD US TO WAR WITH OUR NEIGHBOURS
IF WE LOOK AT HIM AND THEN SAY OR DO NOTHING!!!

Petro Canada did also say that deposits worth of 2 billion barrels of
petrol are within the offshore limits between The Gambia,Senegal and Guinea
Bissau.Scientists do not do their researches for ARPC,NDAM OR PDOIS they do
so because it is their profession and they hand over findings to  the
affected parties,or those authorised to receive these findings(gvts
ofcourse).These scientsists are not Gambians, and they did the same work
for other gvts.Remember tht! the idea came from UN.USA and so on! That very
UN is the body which is responsible of the demarcation of boundaries
nowadays because colonialist are gone! Senegal does its home work
thoroughly and Bissau is now led by sound minds!
Petro Canada according to records and archives recommended The Gambia(then
and now) to table the issue with Senegal because according to findings
which OPTV was privileged to see,a greater part of the deposits are in
Senegal's waters!
WATER,LAND,MINERAL DEPOSITS AND OIL are the fastest things that can cause
fierce battles between neighbours.This is why OPTV sees mad Yahya as a
threat to the security of our subregion and Gambians will come to know
about that sooner than they expect.
When Mad Yahya wants to make people believe that his luck brought us this
confusing reports on oil reserves it make learned and honest Gambian
citizens laugh.
OPTV invites Gambian intellectuals to find out the real reasons behind the
friendly links that existed between late Ansumana Manneh,Salif Sadio and
mad Yahya?
OPTV knows words like PETROL,CHARMS AND WITCH CRAFT will surface from the
onset! Manneh an illiterate who saw life as something that he could
manipulate with horns,bottles and stinking charms, died like a squirrel.Mad
Yahya's inept nature and shallow mind made him strongly believe that within
people like Manneh the illiterate and Yalla a box of hot air he could
expand his influence and then pose as another sub regional power that could
counter Senegal? Sure mad Yahya was convinced that he was almost there.Go
and ask Dr Sedat where he feels free to talk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scientifically we all know that deposits take millions of years before they
turn to hydro carbons etc etc.How on earth can citizens living in this
world in the year 2004 can even sit and listen to such
speeches?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Probably people have stopped watching Tony and
Lamara knowing very well that their entertainer goes on stage free of
charge!
This is a crazy men!
