To all Gambians,

On Sunday May 5th, 2002,  members of AGERA have officially adopted a new
constitution to create an emergency relief fund that will enable us to
confront related challenges within our community.  AGERA has also elected
officers which was done through a secret ballot.

The  AGERA Constitution will soon be posted and shall also be available from
the SOON TO COME website-www.AGERA.com.

Names of elected officers will also be posted in the coming days.

We hope to invite every Gambian living in Atlanta to join this much NEEDED
organization regardless of religious, political,tribal or ethnic background.
  We hope that this organization will serve as a MODEL for other Gambian
communities.

We believe that it is through this collective effort that we can be better
prepared to confront future emergencies.

Finally, we would like to thank all those who offered help during the
difficult times, especially when our fellow Gambians were recently detained
at Hartfield International Airport in Atlanta.

We are Glad that they are all RELEASED.

If you are a GAMBIAN living in Atlanta, please note that your participation
as a member will be highly appreciated. The initiation fee is $50.00 per
person and a monthly contribution of $10.00.
