Demba et al:

Just for the records, I have done the first fundraiser for Chief Manneh and some other renowned comrade with the help of Banka and our own resident, Joe Sambou. I met Banka during the launching of NADD in Atlanta, the DC Demonstration in 2005, and some other groupings in Atlanta. I find Banka to be a genuine comrade in the struggle, one that certainly fits, “Saa muutaa nyoo” (can hold a live snake with him) and am sure, he will not leave the snake head to bite you, even though I have a lot of disagreements on the politics and strategies here and there. Besides, Banka is very respectful, down to earth and friendly. He might want to take heed in his association, and or engagements, to stay very much on focus, for his passion on activism, and being representing overall to preserve the respect and credibility he earned, especially to the most difficult citizens to deal with, Diaspora Gambia, partly because most have seen political light.

To Pa Nderry’s credence, I too was investigating on this story about some group receiving $300,000.00, and I couldn’t get to the bottom of things, though came close to identifying the sponsor, and some other damaging things I discovered while searching for the facts, not at all relating to Banka must I say for the records. For transparency and accountability, I agree with LJD that such need to be disclosed. To Pa Nderry’s long held frustration and jealousy which I equally share, they need to include a media package, if at all any group received that much money, because the online media is the main forefront (in line of fire) complement of anything being done by the diaspora, and that is indisputable, therefore any group that gets the money should consider a media package as opined by Pa Nderry.

Understanding the complexities and turbulence tendencies of our struggle under the most capricious dictatorship, our candles are constantly being put off by on the spot egos and bias of companionship. We tend to be too taken with being “cool” with people, and we fail as a result to act and ask the right questions. For a long time, I just wanted to separate my life from such bondage, and have some independence to my soul, without anyone remote-controlling my life, from the near or far, despite my accommodative and entertaining nature in most events Gambia. Such will give me freedom here on earth and in my grave, that I didn’t go down, just as a “yes-yes” man to some of the most cynical things we a faced with, a tendency to show dominance, a human tendency, one that even the ones doing it are too blinded to see. Like former Lincoln said that some can be fooled temporally and not all the time.

I am going to take a different route here. I disagreed with Dr. Jobe’s take on this matter, his sudden campaign to crucify Pa Nderry, including his revelations that Pa Nderry was the one that authored the “hate” publication against Lawyer Mai Fatty of the GMC, which was forwarded and debated in this forum back then which most of us openly disagreed with. Why is it taking him this long to clear the air? If Dr. Jobe’s threats of “second exile” for Pa Nderry are to go by, that is enough for my sympathy for Pa Nderry, and I am not mincing my opinion on this. With all the complements that Dr. Jobe rained on Pa Nderry and Freedom hitherto, including giving the impression at the time, that Pa and Freedom were the only fighters. Please excuse my jealousy! I think his call on other media houses and citizens to cut ties with Pa Nderry is ill-advised, and as such, I am encouraging citizens to keep engaging one another, for a better outcome, including Pa Nderry himself, who needs to heed to peoples’ concerns on his way activism, a controversial tendency many are continuing to have issues with opinion wise.

Dr. Jobe went further to tell the audience that he was talking with Dr. Saine of CORDEG. But excuse me guys, wasn’t it the same Dr. Jobe that attended the Raleigh Conference, and without notice, backed out for whatever (un)explained reason, and joined forces with GCC, and not enough at membership, but defaulting as its top leader, which I personally warned prior, imposture and forcing leadership on us without selection? Besides, I hope he knows the implications of his revelations about talking to Dr. Saine.

Dr. Jobe said Pa is not working for the struggle, but can someone help remind him for me, he was with Jammeh and chastising the opposition, in fact with the hardest Ping-Pong balls, including UDP’s Ousainou Darboe, when a clash happened in Basse where a supporter of the APRC died.

On a note, I think Pa needs to tame some of his contributors, the latest Lamin, who I think can be prepped and coached to effectively do programs at par with our struggle, more in line with Kejau’s submission. I admire the fact that all these fighters have fire in them, something we can use to our benefit.

For all that I care, let me be branded as different, or better still a “spoiler” if it fits anyone’s description of me, I am not taking any “second exile” from even a prophet, much more to a politician. If anyone comes to power and they believe my opinion and take on this struggle is a threat, please don’t hesitate to pull the bullet on my chest or forehead, and I will be happy to rest in peace, courageously! If questioning, opining and verifying is branded as spoiling, I am happy to be one good spoiler, and it is too dangerous to just accept things without knowing the package’s deal. I will fight to death anyone who will exile me, especially for merely an opinion, one at par with democratic principle.

Warm regards,
Yero.
