Dampha,

If you have trouble understanding any of the issues addresed in the foroyaa
pbulication I fprwarded to the list, I will gladly explain it to you.
There is no doubt that purpose of the whole exercise, from foroyaaa
publishing it, to my forwarding it to the list is very much in keeping with
the agenda of PDOIS, which is to educate the public on how their government
is run which keeps them informed as well as helps them in the attempt to be
masters of their own destiny. It is the people's business that a government
is appointed to do.

The first part explains the process of nomination of a candidate for
president, and the steps and requirements. There is also a commentary, an
opinion on the fact that candidates have to deposit a certain sum of money to
the IEC, and that this should be eliminated because it can help to foster
corruption.

The second part is self explanatory I hope in that it is an interview with
Gabriel Roberts.

Finally, the last part reiterates PDOIS manifesto, which is always the
empowerment of the Gambian public so that they can get to the poitn where
they can make informed choices that addresses their needs, and to know that
they are the ones whose business is the reason political offices are filled.

As for selling party agendas on a daily basis with seemingly endless
longwindedness, this is left to those who are afraid to just present a well
defined agenda and then leave it to the people to think, simply because they
are afraid that if the people are left to think, they may actually arrive at
conclusions that may be contrary to what they are trying to sell them. To
paraphrase Sidia Jatta as stated in his interview that was posted to the L,
all that is needed is to present a clear agenda and leave it to the people to
make up their onw minds.
