Mr Essa Bokkar Sey,

He who laugh last, laugh the best. Gambians have expected this last moved of yours. Remember that you have been a partner to Honorable Yahya Jammeh. You are among the key figures that sacrified everything damn thing to built and branded the image of Yahya Jammeh, national and international.

Reading this interviewed of yours make me sick, it even triggered my appetite of research in going back to the archieves of the Gambia-L to have correct interpretation of what Mr Joe Samba had been advocating on you. You are a dreadful people, a green snake on green grass. Politically, you cannot misleads the mass Gambians. There will be no amnesty to Yahya Jammeh. He killed our children, our families and our friends. You most have been an idiot to compare President Dawda Jawara and Yahya Jammeh.

Dawda Jawara was and is still a human right champion, who the hell is Yahya Jammeh a human butch from Kanilai.

NADD IS THE ONLY SOLUTION TO GAMBIA'S PROBLEM-ESSA SEY!!!!
Essa Bokkar Sey, is not only a career diplomat, but also a leading poet and prolific Gambian writer. Mr.Sey served as Gambia’s Ambassador to Taiwan, France and Washington DC, here in the United States. Call him a seasoned diplomat you make no mistake. It was during Essa's tenure that the tiny West African country qualified for AGOA, a US program intended basically to promote African business in US markets. This program is today benefiting thousands of Gambian small and big scale entrepreneurs trying to sell their goods in the US markets.

AMBASSADOR SEY IN ACTION
In an exclusive interview with the Freedom Newspaper, Managing Editor, Pa Nderry M’Bai, Mr.Sey said the new opposition NADD was the only solution to Gambia’s political and economic crisis. Sey, a retired army sergeant urged Gambians both at home and abroad to rally their support for the NADD flag bearer Halifa Sallah, who he described as genuine politician committed to the advancement and development of The Gambia. Former Ambassador Sey also asked his former friend President Yahya Jammeh to hand over the country in the interest of peace and sustainable democracy, as the wind of change is blowing in the West African country. Sey, commented on the recent withdrawal of the UDP and NRP leaders from the coalition, his impression about the Freedom Newspaper and a host of others. Please read on….
FREEDOM NEWSPAPER: The dust surrounding the NADD leadership impasse has settled down. Halifa Sallah, has been named as a flag bearer. Do you think Halifa is a serious threat to incumbent President Yahya Jammeh, a one time friend of yours?
ESSA SEY: As far as I’m concerned, in the first place, there was no dust surrounding NADD. For Halifa, being a threat to Jammeh? I would rather say Halifa is a solution for Jammeh. The reason why I say he is a solution for Jammeh is that, he is one of those intellectuals in The Gambia, who has the integrity, honesty to be able replace Jammeh and then handle the post -Jammeh era, without resorting to witch hunting. If I were Jammeh, I would have taken this opportunity once again and be in the records of African history. Jammeh, had the opportunity during the transition period, if he had left at that time, he would have been another Amadou Tumani Touray. Instead, the 2006, elections this year, would have been Jammeh’s come back in the most decent way. Here is second chance for Jammeh. It is not cowardice for Jammeh to declare that he is no longer interested, help the opposition parties come together, make an honorable farewell speech, apologize where he made mistakes, because it is
human to make mistakes and then hand over power to any person who is declared a winner.
Freedom Newspaper: There is no indication as at now to suggest that Jammeh will step down from power honorably in the short term. What do you foresee if he Jammeh fails to step down as suggested by Essa Sey?
ESSA SEY:Well, I don’t think this is the suggestion of Essa Sey, but a suggestion of reality. If Jammeh forces to stay by any means necessary then reality will give him the answer by any means necessary. What I mean by that is Jammeh, should understand that Gambia made him but he did not make The Gambia. Let me seize this opportunity Mr.M’Bai, I Essa Sey does not hate Yahya Jammeh personally. What I don’t like is somebody who dislikes truth and reality. Let Yahya, look at the pictures he took with Jawara during the 41 independence of The Gambia and let him solve the equation for himself.
FREEDOM NEWSPAPER: When you said Jammeh, should look at the pictures he took with Jawara, what do you mean by that? Are you implying that Jammeh was bent on ridiculing Jawara by embracing him?
ESSA SEY: Laughter. You know Mr.M’Bai, journalists are just so talented with words they can milk stones. Okay what I mean by that Mr.M’Bai, I’m going to solve the answer in a mathematical way. Jawara, became Prime Minister in 1965, President Yahya Jammeh was born in 1965. He grew up and overthrow Jawara in 1994. Eleven years later Jawara accepted reality and truth, came back and attended The Gambia’s independence celebrations with a man who overthrew him by force. If we go by age, Jammeh is Jawara’s grand son. If we go by experience in politics, Jawara is an Atlantic Ocean and Jammeh is a river. If we go by education, Jawara is a real doctor and Jammeh is an honorary doctor. In all these advantages on Jawara’s side , he never forced his way through. He accepted reality and truth. How about Jammeh? He is still young. He can go and come back, because he cannot tell me that he cannot come back if he leave now, where Neino Veira did it. This is what I meant Mr.M’Bai.
FREEDOM NEWSPAPER: Your this call on Jammeh to go and come back, might be viewed differently by Gambians yearning for an end to Jammeh’s rule. That they don’t want to see the likes of Jammeh at the state house again. What do you make out of this?

SEY HARD ON JAMMEH
ESSA SEY:What I mean out of that is that for him competing for the Presidency does not means that he will occupy the President again. This is simply giving Jammeh and history the benefit of the doubt. Mr.M’Bai, history had proven that so many leaders have been chased out of their countries disgracefully and they came back again. With reference to what Halifa said in the past, he advised Jammeh in the transition period not to use military force to stay in power. He was advised to form a political party and contest the election like any other citizen. When we Gambians are ready to teach Jammeh a reality we also be ready to teach ourselves a reality. There are two sides of the coins here. Jammeh had done so much wrong, but let us remember that he is a Gambian citizen like any of us. If the law proves him wrong, he will face it. If the law proves him innocent, then he can form a political party and come back.
FREEDOM NEWSPAPER: To what extent are you associated with NADD?
ESSA SEY:Mr. M’Bai, I declared openly in New York, I’m a NADD member. I’m a NADD supporter. I identified myself with NADD. All my family members are NADD. Even my last son Bokarr Sey, who is seven years is NADD. Bokarr is a renowned soccer player and he puts on a NADD T shirts when playing in this community where he is known as a soccer player, through a YMC program.
FREEDOM NEWSPAPER:It is great to learn that your family and your very self are supporting NADD. What happened to your APRC support?
ESSA SEY:Well, Mr.M’Bai, do you have any prove that I was an APRC supporter?
FREEDOM NEWSPAPER: It is evident that you were dinning with Jammeh at some point. Do you want to tell us that while working for Jammeh you never supported his government?
ESSA SEY:I would want you to substitute the word dinning with working. Unfortunately, for me I did not finish any salad within the state house dinning room. The only time I remember eating something with Jammeh was when we ate “Benachin” in the Gendarmerie barracks at depot. And working with Jammeh started from the same barracks. Then coming to working as a diplomat, I started my career under President Jawara. Jammeh knows that I was working at the Ministry of the foreign Affairs before overthrowing Jawara. So Mr.M’Bai, I was pro profession and not pro political party. But now I’m pro political party and that is NADD.
FREEDOM NEWSPAPER: How do you feel about the withdrawal of the UDP leader Ousainou Darboe and NRP’S Hamat Bah from NADD?
ESSA SEY:Mr. M’Bai, let me start by repeating myself, Ousainou Darboe is a fine gentle man that I respect him. If you dig into the achieves of The Gambia L, you will see where I said that Ousainou Darboe is a person I highly respect because from day one he show his true colors that he was not in for the AFPRC/APRC government. I’m very much optimistic about the future relationship between Ousainou Darboe, Hamat Bah, Halifa Sallah, Waa Juwara and OJ. My reasons are Ousainou had a lot of similarities with the NADD flag bearer. They are both intellectuals. They both loved The Gambia and they have been on records for telling Jammeh, the truth that many other persons did not tell him every day. I will be little bid philosophical here Mr.M’Bai, when good people faced challenges, unity sheds tears, but this very unity will bring these very people together.
FREEDOM NEWSPAPER: On a final note, what is your impression about the Freedom Newspaper?
ESSA SEY: Laugher. It is a self explanatory Newspaper, because look at the word. The name of your Newspaper is sweet. Your performance is outstanding. You made a name as a journalist before establishing this paper also. One advise, I will give you today, is that accept criticism, harbor criticism and utilize criticism. The best way you can come out as a renowned professional in any field is when you are able to go through so many obstacles and read back to an interesting legacy. Let persevered together in this hard days of the struggle.
FREEDOM NEWSPAPER. Thank you very much Mr.Sey for taking your time to grant us this interview.
ESSA SEY:Mr.M’Bai, let me just divulge very useful positive information which I’m using to motivate you as a journalist online today. Within few weeks, God willing, yourself and other online journalists will be allocated space in a renowned South African journal. So bravo and keep it up. Information means development.
