In a society where state media is serving as a
mouthpiece of the government I think a responsible
press like the point newspaper should serve as the
voice of the voiceless. I cannot understand the
situation back home. Our country is bleeding with her
development crisis and it will take time to restore
her democratic culture. After the flaw presidential
and parliamentary election, a critical press like
Point is calling for compromise and dialogue with the
devil and his gang of criminals. Why is the point
critical about UDP stands to boycott the parliamentary
electing?
I think Mr Saine and Hydara, knows that since the word
Go, the political playing field was not level. APRC
HAD MEDDLE A LOT INTO THE AFFAIRS OF IEC. Few example
will suffice: the unconstitutional sacking of Chairman
Johnson and Commisissioner Fatty, the cancellation of
counting on the spot etc. I blame UDP party for even
contesting in the presidential election. Jammeh have
been clandestine financing some opposition parties so
as make the propose opposition coalition fragile and
for which he has succeed. The U-turn of Sheriff
Mustapha Dibba is a showcase example.
The point editorial stated that UDP have no rights to
organize rallies. What a subtle propaganda about our
times by a complacent media!A devastating analysis of
Jammeh's regime government in human rights books draws
alarming connections between its repression of
information, killings, torture and illegal arrest and
detention without trials. These trends will continue
as he is addicted to rule our country either by flaw
elections or the barrel of the gun. I think the media
should revelatory portrait the large gap between the
realities of today's Gambia and the picture the regime
is presenting to the public and the world.
