Having heard ex-president Jawara announce that he has accepted President
Jammeh's amnesty and that he will be coming home soon, I am very much filled
with joy.

Ex-president Jawara said that he looks forward to coming back home as a
private citizen and that he is retiring form party politics. He also said
that he looks forward to meeting President Jammeh and he is sure they will
get on very well.

I hope others in exile will also come back home soon to help bring about
some genuine reconciliation. I also hope that the militants of the UDP and
APRC will also follow the same path and that the realtion between the
private media and government will also improve so they will help the process
of reconciliation by enlightening us all.

On this note, I am wishing everyone a very happy new year and may God bless
us all. I wish you all the best of luck in 2002 and pray that We will
continue to engage each other possitively for the enlightening of all.

Have a very good day, Gassa.
