Folks.

It is just 9 ("NAIN") days more to the year 2004 and we still haven't got any installment of what is "forecasted***" for Gambians in the New Year. We are waiting for that sacred document which begins with "The Bill entitled an Act to provide for the services of The Gambia for the period 1st January, 2004 to 31st December, 2004 (both dates inclusive)".
It has been a common tradition that every December, Pa Modou Gassama(a.k.a Daddy Nying, a.k.a Kebba Jobe, a.ka. Jungle Sunrass ) will send us, in installments, the "economic intentions" of Jahya Jammeh's inept government and to most of us, it is been the period when we digest the contents of the "Budget" only to give our opinion in the first week of January.
It is only 3 days to Christmas and we have neither seen a "Budget" nor hear anything from the self-made APRC disinformation peddler on the Net; Pa Modou Gassama.
Some statements that I will really miss, are statements like that Famara Jatta last Year:

"Mr Speaker Sir,
The Gambia's National debt as of date stands at about US$601.0 million of which external debt is forecasted to reach about US$490 million at end December 2002. The increase on the external debt from US$437.50million, in 2001 to about US$490.0 million at end 2002 representing a rise of 12 %, reflects an increased inflow of development funds to finance new vitally important projects being implemented by Government."

The first sentence of the above quote is utter nonsense, since he was then presenting the 2003 "Budget". The times "as of date" and "at the end of December 2002" are, logically, one and the same. The rest of the paragraph is either gobbledygook, rubbish or sheer "poepi-nak" to impress the nation.

And lest we forget, Fams promised us an Auditor's Report in December 2003. December 2003 has only 9 (NAIN) days to go. Is this also forgotten or Is it as the other reports of all the Commissions that have never been published since Jammeh came to Power?

To Yahya Jammeh and his "Tallalas", I say "You can fool some of the people......."
All I and the majority of Gambians want to read about now is the 2004 Budget. Period.
We do not want to hear about "exposing the Gambia to 200 Million "potential" tourist or nothing of that sort. Just tell us what more hardship the Gambians should expect.

Prince

NB:
***: The word "forecasted" is not an English word. It is only said and used in the Gambian Budget. It should be seen as Jammeh's and his cronies way to Gambianise an English word, which tells a lot about the calibre of the people ruining our beloved country.
For those who are curious about what Famara Jatta "Forecasted for the Services of the Gambia" in 2003 should visit Jammeh's Site at http://www.statehouse.gm/budgetspeech2003/index.htm
