I couldn't agree with you more on your statement that this would have been
the best chance for a United Opposition.  Hopefully, this is not what
prompted the last minute pull out.

On the other hand, the UDP and other opposition parties need to start laying
some serious ground work.  The elections are only six months away and, as
Ebrima's source posited, the outcome of the next elections will be
deteremined in the next few weeks.  The time for easy excuses and  treating
the opposition, particularly the UDP,  with kid's gloves must come to an end
ASAP.  The stakes are high right now and they must be made to a feel the same
sense of urgency which we also feel.  So while your criticsim of the party is
tough, it is not misguided.
