SUBJECT:RE:ATTN:Daddy Nying:Let us respect expression of views.

Daddy Nying,

As much as it is true that national development is a collective responsibility,It is equally true that in country a where farming is the principal preoccupation,it's the responsibility of the government to create the right conditions for the farmers to be able to market their produce. The level of suffering that Gambian farmers have gone through due to the confrontational approach adopted by the government is really a disgrace to our national pride.Accusations of money laundering and the forcefull seizure of premices where the choosen alternatives to replace constructive engagements and dialogue. It's rather unfortunate that the poor Gambian people will continue to pay for the price whenever the use of force and confrontation replaces negotiations and dialogue. The bloody events of last april is a reminder to this.

It's futile to deny that schools, hospitalsand roads were constructed during the last six years. It is however equally futile to equate these developments to loss of freedom and democracy in The Gambia. The price Gambians are paying for the hospitals, roads and schools of this regime is just too expensive to the liking of some of us.We want a development with a human face and not one that is stained with the blood of young school. There can never be any DURABLE DEVELOPMENT if freedom is the price. The government must realised that tolerance, dialogue, the respect for different views and opinions are as important as any road or hospital in the development a country.

Daffeh
