Alningbara Kambiya L Bantabamolu,

Why do our heroes die so soon? I am finding it difficult to digest news of Ebrima Sagnia's passage. Mr. Sagnia was my former professional boss at GRTS and was just appointed Chairman of the Standing Committee on Film.

I am have been eagerly hoping to meet him again in Banjul after so long.

The government agencies told me he was recovering I never realized his sickness was so grave. Of late he could not attend to emails.

I sent out my condolences to the Ministries of Culture and Tourism and the National Council for Arts & Culture.

Until a new Chairman for film policy regulatory process is appointed we mourn. Am ready to Chair the Committee without asking for payment for my services but then The Gambia Government should reciprocate by paying my return flights to and from the face-to-face sittings in Gambia as a kind of token of appreciation. The fact that I already prepared the draft policy shows I am already fully involved.

On another matter, I would like to thank all the Editors who ran and did not run my interview with Standard Newspaper (which will follow next week on print version of STANDARD as am just told in an email from the Editor's team). I hope it will melt away the misconceptions that shrouded my unceremonious departure from the national broadcaster.

THE POINT NEWSPAPER PROFILE OF MR. SAGNIA by The Curator of the National Museum Mr. Hassoum Ceesay:

MAY THE DEPARTED SOUL REST IN PERFECT PEACE.
