Police Okay 3rd Term Rally

By Nicholas Kajoba

Thembo asked the masses to ignore court cases (and rulings) lodged by the Democratic Party and UPC.

He said President Museveni will not declare the north a disaster area.

***********************************
THE Police has okayed the third term launch rally by the group 'Operation return President Yoweri Museveni' tomorrow at Nakivubo
The national speaker of Uganda Young Movementists (UYM), Muwanga Kivumbi, said this during a press conference in Kayunga town on Thursday.

Kivumbi and MP Nyombi Thembo are among the organising committee members.

Kivumbi said they had received a letter from the Inspector General of police, Major General Katumba Wamala, giving them a go-ahead.

The president's political assistant, Moses Byaruhanga, will attend the occasion.

Kivumbi said over 50 MPs and other dignitaries were expected to attend the function.

They will also join other third term supporters in a music and dance gala.

Kivumbi said the operation return Museveni would eventually be taken to all the other districts after the launch in Kampala

He said they would not allow anyone or group to stand on their way as they canvass support for President Yoweri Museveni in 2006.
"We want to see that President Museveni stands for a third term.

He should not betray us and that is why we are launching this operation," he said.

Thembo asked the masses to ignore court cases (and rulings) lodged by the Democratic Party and UPC.

He said President Museveni will not declare the north a disaster area.
