James,
Your combined efforts were appreciated. It is not easy to organize such a
gathering, and bringing Gambian to a national forum is hard unless if it a
party. I think you guys have done wonders, and seeing you cleaning the table
after everyone alone was more than enough to appreciate your efforts with
that of Latjorr and all the members of the organizing committee.
However, I can understand why most of us got disappointed. It certainly was
not under anyone's control. Most of us where expecting that it was call for a
United Opposition. And when the news came out that the government was going
to send in a delegation, was when some of us thought that this might be an
opportunity to ask some of the questions that have been rumored a lot around
town. I got deeply disappointed that I could not or any body else could have
asked about someone like Dumo Saho. This was the most pressing issue I had in
my mind, and missing the opportunity to ask the AG that did not sit well with
me.
Nonetheless, I can understand why the guy felt threatened. I probably would
have too. The reception he got was not really the best for him. I am so
disappointed that only a few people made this happen. The guy was so
professional in the way he handled his speech and I just wish he had
gentlemanly stayed and took some questions. What most of us had to understand
is that as we are all entitled to our opinion, we are able to be able to meet
one another and discuss fruitfully without calling names. At the end, those
of us who had unanswered questions certainly became the losers.
Mr. Gomez, do not be discouraged. Your efforts are appreciated. Extend my
regards to all the organizing the members.

Ousman Jallow Bojang.
