(6) Howard Hughes Medical Institute Accepting Applications
        for Graduate Fellowship Programs
Deadline: Various
Through its grants programs, the Howard Hughes Medical
Institute (http://www.hhmi.org/ <http://www.hhmi.org/> ) works to strengthen
science education at all levels, from kindergarten through
postgraduate training. HHMI is currently accepting
applications for the following graduate fellowship
programs:

Predoctoral Fellowships in Biological Sciences are awarded
for up to five years of full-time study toward a Ph.D. or
an Sc.D. in specified biological disciplines. College
seniors, college graduates with no or limited post-
baccalaureate graduate study in the biological sciences,
and first-year graduate students are invited to apply.
(Deadline: November 13, 2001.)

Research Training Fellowships for Medical Students are
designed to enable selected medical students with an
interest in fundamental research to spend a year doing
intensive work in a research laboratory. (Deadline:
November 15, 2001.)
