Yus,
Sorry I could not get back to you any sooner. Had a long day.
I cannot agree more with you. The scrutinizing is what is expected to be
dangerous to the opposition I imagine. I have not tried to analyze the
results. I am more into the substance of the whole system. I will wait for
your full perspectives on this issue.
Your reasons for trying to overcome the low voter turn out are to be noted. I
see no reason why that cannot be done, but I can tell you that from my own
personal experience with these opposition leaders, they do not think Gambians
outside the country can concretely understand the situations on the ground.
They may have had change of mind since then. And they might be right. I have
seen it on this List everyday. Calling opposition scrutiny an unwarranted
pride and self importance is the least thing one would expect to be called.
Talking about that, I think I am in a better position now to understand why
some take the positions they do. Discussing sensitive issues fruitfully may
be is what is lacking.
You are right that I am in for a United opposition. However, until then I am
one of the very proud fence sitters.

Ousman Jallow Bojang.
