Alhamdulillah and may Allah bring us into the 'month of mercy', Ramadhan,
with a lot of blessings. I seek forgiveness from those I might have offended
and forgive all those who might have offended me. I exhort myself and you to
tone down argumentation in respect of this great month as adviced by the
Prophet (SAW). If someone tries to quarrel with you, tell them you are
fasting. Allahumma a'inna ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni ibaadatika ( O'
Allah, help us in remembering you, thanking you and worshipping you in the

During the blessed Islamic month of Ramadhan this site, Insha'Allah, will
provide a free email notification service on the sighting of the moon (to
mark the beginning of Ramadhan and the day of Eid) and provide on a daily
basis Muslim news from around the world, Islamic culture, explanation of
Qur'an and audio and visual talks on vital Muslim issues including a regular
talk from Masjid Al Aqsa.

All praise is to Allah. The moon was sighted on the 29th of Sha'ban (7th
December) in Yemen, Libya and Algeria so in accordance with the following
hadith the first day of Ramadhan and fasting will begin tomorrow (8th
December):

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said "Fast at its
sight (the moon) and break fast at its sight. If it turned out to be cloudy
over you, then complete Sha'ban for thirty days". [Narrated by Abdullah ibn
Umar. Sahih Bukhari 3.131]
