 DEARBORN -- Local Islamic leaders are encouraging Metro Detroit's Muslim
 community to take meningitis vaccinations as they prepare to head to
 Saudia Arabia next month for once-in-a-lifetime journeys to Mecca, Saudi
 Arabia.
 At least 70 Muslims visiting Mecca contracted W-135 meningitis during last
 year's pilgrimage, also known as the Hajj. This particular strain accounts
 for about 4 percent of meningitis cases in the United States.
