Dear The Global Democracy Project,

Jerry Fowler, President of the Save Darfur Coalition, with the helicopter
and more than 56,000 petitions
Thank you for standing with us at the U.N.
See the helicopter in the picture to the right? The Darfur peacekeepers
could use some of those.
Thanks to you, the U.N. heard loud and clear that it must give peacekeepers
the resources they need.
On Thursday, July 31, the Darfur movement came together around the world and
at U.N. headquarters in New York to mark the one-year anniversary of the
authorization of peacekeepers for Darfur.
Because of you, we were able to present more than 56,200 petitions to
representatives of the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council, with an
actual helicopter as a backdrop. It was impossible to miss! We also released
a _report_ (http://action.savedarfur.org/ct/F72Ddn11scYr/) with our
partners highlighting countries that can provide helicopters for the peacekeeping
mission.
Thank you for adding your name to this international effort to hold world
leaders accountable for their failed leadership—and for standing with the
people of Darfur.
I want to personally thank you for participating in this campaign and share
some great photos from the event:

leaders/_ (http://action.savedarfur.org/ct/Fd2Ddn11scY4/)
With your support, we will continue to work tirelessly to push our leaders
to fully and effectively deploy peacekeepers and to fulfill our moral
obligation to the people of Darfur.
We will keep you posted about other ways you can advocate for the people of
Darfur and help end the genocide.
Thank you again, The Global Democracy Project, for standing with us at the
U.N., and for all that you do for the people of Darfur.
Best regards,
Colleen Connors
