THE NEED FOR A FRUITFUL INTERPOLITICAL DIALOGUE TO ADOPT A STRATEGY TO RESCUE SINKING GAMBIA FOR FREEDOM JUSTICE AND NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
As we witness a sad moment in Gambian history there is the urgent need to break the political frontier that keeps apart progressive Gambian patriots and bridge the gulf in a bold and imaginative act.

KUKOI CALLS ON OPPOSITION LEADERS TO
  UNITE AND RESCUE "SINKING" GAMBIA!!!
Now is the moment for all Gambians to discover that what they share in common is much greater and more powerful than what divides them, and that Gambians of good will must work very hard together and be enrichened by their diversity, not fearful of it, if we Gambians are to build landscapes of freedom and peace.Today a national order is the surest safeguard against political conflict and civil wars in the Gambia.
By keeping with this new vision dedicated Gambian patriots must begin a meaningful political dialogue to build a culture of freedom, peace, justice and a genuine democracy.
But in order to dialogue, Gambian civilization need to be embodied in gifted individuals who have their country at heart. I believe that the brilliant display of cross-fertilization of ideas will reveal a remarkable range of common ground between all belief systems.
Our dialogue I hope will also reveal the passion of conscious and visionary Gambian leaders who will take beyond the details of personal practice self agrandisement, power hungry and the walls of our traditions to construct broad avenues for a future Gambian world without hatred, dictatorship, murder oppression and exploitation.
I strongly believe that instead of competing against each other, sabotage and wishful thinking Gambian freedom fighters must increasingly try to learn from each other, by using the vehicle of inter-political dialogue to explore the belief systems of other fellow Gambian politicians.
Beyond the excitement of discovering common ground with people of radically different political backgrounds and histories, inter-political dialogue will also bring about “mutual transformations” as we all will deepen and reform our own political practice.
In fact as a result inter-political dialogue especially between Gambian freedom fighters of different political organizations who share a common enemy and a common destiny will not only be a way to enhance one’s personal political life, but also will be an important new step in Gambian political history. There is no better place to see the creativity and potential of inter-political dialogue than in this pathway.
My admiration for courageous socio-politico-economic reformers like combatant Gambian freedom fighters is balanced by a deep respect for the wonder and misery of existence that challenges those who make false and oppressive claims of absolute power or truth.
A well organized and meaningful dialogue must express inspiration and exhilaration of crossing political boundaries of discovering kindred spirits across Gambian history, and of crafting new frameworks for building a culture of peace in the Gambia.
In our search for peace, progress and prosperity we have to test many path-ways in our political journey, where our inspiring minds will offer dialogue as the best sure hope for the survival and flourishing of Gambian civilization.
May be we are patriots and freedom fighters apart ideologically and practically but we share a common destiny in our common work of liberation, the search for justice, peace and wholeness, we should be aware that we are two wheels for the progress of Gambian civilization. Our everyday political work and action must make dictator Jammeh see and discover that he is really confronting men and women who habour the truth» flame of conviction” in their breasts.
As for the horrors of Jammeh’s regime will all are made painfully aware that his dictatorship aims to turn Gambians into beasts for his pleasure games. Our bitter experiences will not deter us in the pursuit of our goals “freedom and justice” as the proverb says, blocked waves pound that much harder.
With the weight of each word we utter and significance of each action we undertake, we will strongly become true freedom fighters in pursuit of freedom and justice and should demonstrate we are people who know how to battle through the power of intellect.
I believe that we Gambian freedom fighters must employ all the goodness inherent in our human nature in a politically motivated search for the true meaning of life, and it should be from the soil of that great endeavor that the kind of openness of heart that will comprehend the dignity of the life force will spring.
In our desperate search to establish a lasting genuine democracy for national development we must allow one drop of the water of dialogue to fall upon the wasteland of intolerance, where attitudes of hatred and exclusionism have so long prevailed, creating conditions for possibilities of trust and friendship to spring up. This I believe is the most trustworthy and lasting road to that goal.
In order for us to succeed in establishing a lasting and genuine democracy in the Gambia I wish we encourage the flow of a non by-partisan political dialogue not only on the political plane but also on the broader level of the populace as a whole.
Our main aim should be to allow Gambians discover a road to freedom, peace and justice through the common dimensions of humanity that we all share. In choosing political dialogue we should aim to build a new Gambian civilization based upon mutual tolerance and harmony for at the two crossroads of life if we part we may never meet again.
We should never imprison ourselves in political parties for personal ambitions making futile sterile debates and become intellectual show boys but we must create an atmosphere of direct, intimate and personal relationship where we will question and be questioned and most importantly where nothing will be taken for granted. Let us work hard to build a good system and society where communication will be a key factor and where everything will come under sharp scrutiny.
In this way the truth will always emerge in the process of conflict of ideas and perspectives through the dialectic. We have to educate ourselves to know and fully understand that dialogue is a method of human communication.
Other human communication methods include command (as in the military), adversarial (as in a court law), instructional (as in a classroom), bureaucratic (as in offices), scientific (as in scientific conferences and journals), and intimate (as among friends and lovers). Each method has its own rules. Dialogue is both an end and a means to human understanding.
In dialogical communications, we have to engage others as different but equal. We should try to enter the world of meaning of others through an open-ended process of communication and exploration. Dialogue is premised on mutual respect and learning.
In dialogue, we change through mutual appreciation, sympathy, and empathy. This is not the easiest method of human communication but it is the most fruitful one. That is why dialogue is the most meaningful path to negotiating a new global civilization based on the contribution of all past human civilization.
One fact is that when two or more persons of good will enter into a sincere conversation about their own truths a more universal truth emerges. With this dialogue our Gambian views must reflect a complex synthesis of traditional and modern perspectives.
The situation in the Gambia today is extremely volatile marked by high tensions and inevitable conflict of interest as demonstrated by the struggle for survival on both conflicting sides (a) the oppressed and (b) the oppressor.
As concerned citizens and responsible leaders we have to rack our brains over how to bring about an alternative to the present ultra neocolonial oppressive regime of tyrant Jammeh doing everything to establishing a lasting peace and economic stability in the Gambia.
As the Gambian crisis deepens daily bring untold sufferings on the people under the present junta regime we truly need a very competent leader who will carry out changes with courage and fortitude but one must not forget that it is very crucial to strengthen the power of people to prevent politics from swinging towards extremism as is gradually happening today in the Gambia.
Those awakened Gambians to the critical realities of our time must join hands to defend freedom and justice, to establish a genuine democracy.
We should stop unpatriotic Gambian leaders pursuing their own happiness at the expenses of others – piling up fortunes atop people’s miseries which in my opinion is sheer nonsense.
Such an approach should not be tolerated any more in the Gambia. We should aim at building a healthy society where people seek their own prosperity while helping others to flourish as well.
Mutual pursuit of mutual happiness ought to be the norm in Gambian society. We should be tender hearted enough to feel others pains as our own and we should be willing to do whatever we can for the benefit of others.
We should not allow Mr. Jammeh live a wishful dream of satisfying his evil appetite of oppression and exploitation, institutionalizing hatred and division in the Gambia.
