Malafy,

I like the way you responded to Yaya Touray. And I hope he will learn a
lesson from it. Communication is indeed a discipline that must be ultimately
taught and learned.

If you and your friends are able to maintain and respect your friendships
despite your political affiliations, then you must all be matured individuals
from a mental and political perspective. This has been and it is a
shortcoming in our society. And unless we are able to overcome this defect
and idiocy, we will never bring any meaningful development to the
sociopolitical lives of our people.

There is a lady on Gambia-L that I used to chat with on line. But at one
point in time, I wrote something political that she did not like. So she got
mad and stopped chatting with me. But guess what! It did not and will not
make a differences to my life as an individual. Nevertheless, what remains
evident is her shortsightedness; her desire to control what I write or say,
which is a flagrant violation of a fundamental human right (Freedom of
Expression). So what kind of socioeconomic or political changes can a person
of her calibre bring to our people? Moreover, she continues to bark
continuously and consistently.

Malafy, I respect you for being bold enough to express your political views
contrary to the liking of many on the L. Your friends are great too. That is
the kind of society and democratic change that I envisage for The Gambia. A
society where people do not only talk about freedom, but also exercise it.

Our words and actions today will be judged by the future.

S.S.Saidykhan
