Foroyaa/PDOIS/Halifa.....right or wrong, what's our action point. Occupying an Embassy (whether you are for/against) in itself will not bring Yahya down. He might fume and throw few drinking glasses on the wall - typical of a paranoiac dictator. Debating the pros and cons of such action unless seeking plan of action will do no good for our struggle.

Is there anyway we can use this incident and its aftermath to initiate a serious dialogue of our problem(s), possible solution(s) and the required vehicle(s) for such solution(s).

Gambia's problem will neither be solved in the cities in Europe/America nor can it be outsourced. However we in Europe and America's can be very key in stopping our nation flush down the drains by Yahya provided we do the right political things.

In as much as we're frustrated/angry at Yahya, the question we ought to ask is what have we done about it. Besides elections and political activism in Europe and America's what other options have we explore. Do we know the existing of other political options? Do we believe is time to use force or is that a premature conclusion? Should you think force is the only option at this point - what role will use play and have you thought of the large consequences and benefits.

Months ago I wrote an article called "The Neutral/Independent Broker". The basic idea was to separate diaspora efforts from political parties. That does not say we do not like/support them but we as non elected office seeking activists should entirely focus on making Gambia 'A Functioning Institutional Democracy'. This point may or may not be the same for one seeking office. I have the feeling many thought they're the same. Warning - wait unless the assume the seat of power!

Such a position today may seem to share common desires with opposition politician but the equation may/will change who ever assumes office. An independent stand will enable us focus of making Gambia 'A Functioning Institutional Democracy' while party politicians are expect to work within that frame with their desired policy differences. If we tasked politicians to institute democracy it will never happen. Take that to the bank anyway! Period!

The recent developments of Foroyaa's take on the Embassy take over is like friendly fire under the same tenet - shooting one and another. The aggregation strategy is out at the window.

I am NOT advocating for use of force. However I have circulated a plan that will drag Yahya to the negotiating table. Some think am delusional to think that Yahya will talk to us. This is either they don't understand global politics and/or too intimidated by Yahya's noises. We will have leverage through organization that will force Yahya to come to the table. He's not going to do it because he likes it or want it. Equally he will over time yield because of this leverage.

I am not claiming my plan is Quran/Bible....but I hope others put theirs on paper so we can begin to debate for action. Enough of empty rhetorics and more of action that bear pressure on Banjul!!!!
