A SAD CASE FOR A CORRUPT GAMBIAN MINISTER-YANKUBA TOURAY TRYING TO BEAT THE SYSTEM!!!

Disgraced Gambian Minister Yankuba Touray, is one of those who will contribute to the fall of President Yahya Jammeh. While the Minister is making last minute rush to make his loved ones to be US Citizens, by sending his wife to deliver in the United States, the likes of Edward Singhateh and other brains behind the AFPRC/APRC revolution are being sidelined by the President. Edward the truth be told, is one of the poorest Ministers you can find in Jammeh’s government. This was the man who spearheaded the 1994 coup, but the likes of Yankuba Touray had overshadowed him. Yanks is dipping his hands into state coffers at his own accord just to satisfy his materialistic wife lady Mami Minteh.

Edward Singhateh is not as bad as widely portrayed by the likes of Ebou Jallow. Jallow makes all kinds of lies against the Singhateh family in a bid to win sympathy from The Gambian populace who for some reasons decided to distance themselves from such a money launderer. The same Ebou Jallow is today worshipping the Jammeh dictatorship. Little did he know that Gambians cannot be fooled by his likes.
The real criminal is Yankuba Touray, who is denying the state millions of dollars yearly. Yanks was born poor, but today he is bragging that he is Gambia’s co President. That he can do whatever, he wanted and nothing will come out of it. His wife was received in the US by the Gambian Mission in Washington, DC to come and deliver here. This is no secret. We know that Ministers wives are usually received by the mission, before they reached their place of destination. She is currently in Raleigh NC ,expecting a baby.

What can Yahya Jammeh tell us. He is aiding and abetting corrupt officials. It is unfair for Jammeh to give special treatment to Yanks and his family when the likes of Edward are being sidelined by the dictatorship. It is gathered that Jammeh is even planning to frame the Singhatehs. That day is coming. Yanks is lying to Jammeh day in day out just to win the support and sympathy of the President. He is doing this to the detriment of his fellow Ministers. This is outrageous and totally unfair to say the least.
Yankuba cannot be richer than the state. He cannot afford to pay for the exorbitant US medical bills. Perhaps he is engaged in medi care fraud. The Freedom Newspaper, is gathering more facts on Yanks corruption scams and will release it to The Gambian public and the civilized world once we are done with our investigations. It is a crime for Yanks to lie to the US health delivery system just to meet his dream for his family to be US subjects. This government stands to be accused of condoning corruption if it fails to disassociate itself from Yanks conspiracy theories to deceive and cheat the US health sector. In days to come, the Freedom Newspaper, will expose whatever, information it gathered on this serious case involving Yankuba Touray and his family.
The Gambian Mission in Washington DC, should be frank enough and tell the truth. They stands to be accused of conspiracy following their refusal to tell Yanks and Mami to follow the right channels to get medical attention in the US. It is gathered that there are other cases of non payment of bills involving some Gambian Ministers, whose wives came to the states to deliver. This fraud should stop. Our country’s image should be protected. What is wrong with giving birth in The Gambia? Why this unnecessary race to be US subjects? Shame on these corrupt public officers.
JAMMEH IS CONCERNED ABOUT SECURITY AND NOT CORRUPTION. WELL, CORRUPTION ACCORDING TO AN INSIDER AT THE STATE HOUSE LEADS TO INSECURITY
While the US congress is yet to approve President Bush’s Guest worker project bill, the likes of Yankuba Touray are trying to beat the system. Yanks and his wife Mami used to tell their friends “Mane suma doom AmericanLa. NawdingomuAmericannolatey.” Meaning my kids are Americans. Such statements tempted others to bring their loved ones here to give birth. Most of these Ministers don’t have the funds to bring their wives to the US, not to talk of footing their medical bills. They end up stealing poor tax payers funds just to meet their desires.
We have no problem with anybody coming here to deliver, but it should not be done to the detriment of the poor tax payers. Our tax payers need such funds to get better roads, schools, health, education, you name them….
Edward Singhateh was born in the United kingdom, but he never attempted to take his wife to deliver there. He got the connections to do it, but he is playing a low profile watching Yahya and Yanks who betrayed their so called revolution. This was not what you sworn for when you staged the coup. Yankuba Toouray is an invitee, who succeeded to dominate the show. In Jammeh’s government, honesty do not matter. What matters is how much one can lie, kill and frame others. This is what obtains in today’s Gambia.
Few days ago, this paper was emailed by a person in the heart of Jammeh’s government, who told us in no uncertain terms that the President was ignoring Yankuba’s flamboyant life style and the writer said he will not be surprised if the likes of Yanks will contribute to the President’s down fall. The source said the Freedom Newspaper’s revelations on Yankuba’s clandestine moves to send his wife to deliver in the US was being discussed at the State House.
“ The President knew about Yanks’s corruption, but he decided to put his personal interest to mortgage the country. He is using him for his own political gains and cares less if Yanks is robbing the country. Many people here, are very upset with the President. Many are smiling for him, but in real fact are opposed to his hypocrisy. If Yankuba Touray can bring his wife to the US, why not Edward and other Ministers. But things will be clear sooner or later.” said our source.
The source said the President is not concerned about corruption these days. “ To be honest with you, the President is not giving corruption the attention it deserved. He seems to be concerned about his security and not the development of the country. What he fails to realize is that corruption contributes to insecurity. This was what led to Jawara’s removal. Everybody is saying that Yankuba is untouchable. This will cost him politically. He waits until the last minute to sacrifice his close ones, when it is too late in the day. This was what happened on Baba Jobe’s case. Many Ministers are not happy with the way the President is treating Yankuba. I can tell you this.” said our source.
Lady Mami Minteh Touray delivered last year at the Raleigh Community Hospital, here in the United States. This hospital is one of the leading hospitals in North Carolina. The Freedom Newspaper, gathered that for Mami to deliver in such a classic hospital, she should be ready to pay several thousands of dollars. Unless she lied to health authorities there, she cannot pay such bills. We know what it takes to deliver in the US.
This paper’s Editors and writers harbored no grudges against Maimi Minteh and his corrupt husband Yankuba Touray. What we are opposed to is the daylight robbery against our own people. The Freedom Newspaper, will be doing disservice to its readers, if it failed to report some of the corrupt activities of our Ministers. We reserved the right to report about Yankuba and his wife since they are being fed and paid by our poor tax payers. If Yanks was not in public office, nobody will be interested about his private life. No amount of name calling will stop us from exposing criminals like Yankuba Touray.
We here by urge the Minority leader in the National Assembly Halifa Sallah to sponsor a motion to probe into Yankuba Touray’s corrupt conduct as a Minister. The revelations made by the Freedom Newspaper, on Yanks corrupt practices should be investigated in the interest of the country. We do know that the APRC rubber stamp National Assembly will not welcome such a motion, but for the sake of posterity, the opposition should pursue the matter. If not pursued by this government, future governments can take up the case. More revelations will come in days to come.
