There's been tremendous lobbying efforts toward this important question of
Gambians abroad voting from overseas. From questioning Jammeh, who said, it
would be too expensive and hence impossible; PDOIS' [Foroya] open letter on
this issue; Darboe's several address on the same topic during the
Presidential politricking; Several letters from individual Gambians and
various movements/organizations addressed to the IEC, who has the sole
authority, not Jammeh, at addressing this issue; This Movement's purchase of
Radio and Newspaper ads in Gambia, intent on sensitizing and generating a
debate on the said issue; absentee voice and lack of interest by Jammeh and
his APRC lot, perhaps due to fear of G-Ler's.
The best way is, for you to keep haranguing your NAM and the IEC. Let's hope
that, Halifa's entrance into the legislative body, will lookout for us,
disenfranchised Gambians.
Sam
