 Brother Peter,

All meetings of the Gambian Association here are held in the same complex as
that housing the mosque. There is also an office and a meeting room sharing
a common entrance (same floor) with the mosque and everybody refers to the
place as Islamic Centre or just "juma gi"

The head of the Gambian Association is a Christian and he too refers to the
place as Islamic Centre. He has an office there. The non-Muslim have equal
access to the Centre and spend their time in the meeting room or hallway
whilst the Muslims perform their prayers. The ambassador that's supposed to
meet us after prayers on Friday is also Christian (John P. Bojang).

If during the course of the prayers a non-Muslim comes in I shall make space
for him beside. So Brother Peter, you are most welcome - whether to debate
or to pray!

A. Kabir Njie

PS: Though I am a dues-paying member, I am not an official of the
Association. I am just doing what I can, like many others, to help make the
event a success. If non-Muslims were excluded, I personally, and I am sure
some others, would have boycotted the event. Welcome again!
