Mr. Sanusi,
I would seize from politicising it. And if I am to joke about it, I would say you are just out of fashion as Mr. Camara:)
Anyway, it sure is true that we as Gambains did not encourage our artists. And I am not sure this have changed either.

You have said it all for me. I spent the best part
of my teenage life supporting IFANGBONDI only for
others to say that I am out of touch with reality. I
used to save my lunch allowance just to attend
Ifangbondi's shows at either Roxy Cinema, Odeon or
Super Bird.

If we take our politics aside, I can point blame on
the PPP government for doing little to acknowledge
the good of IFANGBONDI. A classic example could be
seen
when PPP used to Fund-Raising Shows on Independence
Day with Youssou Ndour and Super Etoile as the
entertainers. The sad thing about the whole idea is
that Youssou was getting richer and popular at the
expense of own people, whilst the AFRO MANDING
CREATORS; Pa Touray, Senemi Taylor, Badou Jobe, Karamo
Sabally, Alberr and many others were getting poorer
due to lack of acknowledgement.

Gambian Musicians have been hard done by their own
people. I have witnessed shows in which entrance fees
have to be reduced because of low turnout.

At present, we saw how Musa Ngom had to migrate to
Senegal because of the lack of support. I understand
this guy is seen as a legend among the senegalese
community.

The question one has to ask is when will we honour our
Great Gambian Musicians.

Just a thought, no hard feeling.
