"Haruna, with all due respect, yes it did ocme out the wrong way," Ginny.

Did it? How so?

"and the only reason Clinton was called the first "black President" was
becuase he embodied certain stereotypical, I might add, characteristics of black
people and men in particular, i.e., could play the saxophone, cheated on his
wife, grew up poor, etc." Ginny.

NO Ginny. These are not the reasons I would call Bill Clinton a Black
President if I were to call him that. Don't you see what your problem is???? You
have conjured in your mind what constitutes a Black President and you then
characterize Clinton as such when you have no authority nor privilege for such.
If you say it is other people who call Clinton a black president only because
of these nonsensical characteristics, then what you ought to do is introduce
those people to us and you will find out they are like Ginny.

[I was reading something at a blog at
_http://whataboutourdaughters.blogspot.com_ (http://whataboutourdaughters.blogspot.com) , so it seems, according to
this blog, that not every black person thinks of Clinton as the "first black
President".] Ginny.

Well. Does this not tell you anything? and you said "not every black person
thinks of clinton as "the first black president". I suppose you want to
replace those black people and speak for them then.

[If "blackness" is no longer about descent, where someone comes from, if
it's based on who can play the saxophone, who is cheating on their spouse, ore
more to the point, based on some sort of "culture" or because you act a certain
way or do certain things, well,] Ginny.

This is exactly what I mean Ginny. You have conjured up in your mind what
blackness is and you are running your mouth on that premise. Why do you feel you
have to define blackness for black folk?????
Would you like to introduce to us who qualified blackness as the things you
rambled on about????

"does that make me black becuse I listen to R&B and Hip Hop?" Ginny.

NO.

"Just to name one example." Ginny.

You wanna try another example??

"I'm not taking anything away from people to define people how they want,
but deeming someone black
because they cheat on their wife?" Ginny.

Who deemed someone black because they cheat on their wife???

"I'm not black, but if I were, I think I'd be offended, heck, I am offended
by that and I'm not black!" Ginny.

Think! Think! Be pleased with what you are if not black.

"Personally, I wonder how much of what you state as your opinions on here
are really your opinions,
because I think most of the time, you just like to argue with people, just
to get them worked up,
and then proceed to cut up their posts so much into little pieces that you
make them into
something altogether different than what was originally said!" Ginny.

I am sorry you feel that way.

"The same person who would tell me not to be afraid to comment on Gambian
issues is the same person who will tell me to "sit down and shut up" (because we
all know that's what you were thinking), when we're talking about American
issues!" Ginny.

I am glad you ascertain that I do not have an aversion to either Gambian or
American issues. When anyone opens their mouth here, they better use their
common and uncommon senses.

[Gosh, I can't win for losin' can I? How many times was I told to "stick to
your own issues", and
hey, we're talking about American politics aren't we? And then someone
comes along and says "oh
you can't talk about that 'cause you're white!"] Ginny.

I have no idea as to your query Ginny. But you cannot qualify a black
president or which president is a fan of black people. Simple.

"Just goes to show that if you try to make everyone happy, then you'renever
going to be happy yourself!" Ginny.

I could have told you that Ginny. In fact I think I shared that with you
during the many years of our company. You're just hot-headed and you wouldn't
listen.

"Ginny"

Whatever.
