According to Guardian an international criminal court
able to prosecute human rights abusers any where in
the world will become a reality today despite the
fierce opposition of US.
The treaty needs the ratification of 60 countries.The
court will come into existance on July 1.Seven
countries due to ratify today are
Bosnia,Bulgaria,Combodia, Ireland,Monogolia,Romania
and Slovkia.They will bring the total to 66.
Acoording to the report, Jordan,Niger,The Democractic
republic of Congo and Gambia are expected to sign in
the next few weeks.The tribunal will be based in
Netherlands and will police abuses worldwide.`
