Joe,

I agree with you entirely. No self-described Jola should feel ashamed
because of Yaya Jammeh. It's all about individual responsibility! Besides,
if we are to go by Mr. Kujabi's logic, all Mandingo speaking people should
hang themselves for the failure of DK Jawara. He gave us Yaya Jammeh as a
present -remember?

Personally, I have many Jola friends some of whom literally detest what Yaya
Jammeh is doing to the image of Jolas. So, instead of Mr. Kujabi feeling
ashamed of Yaya solely because of what he speaks, he ought to be worried
about what he does as a Gambian. People like Shingle Nyassi, and a former
neighbor of mine Alagi Bambo Morro Jarju (of Radio Gambia Request prg fame,)
are as Foni as anyone, yet they've maintained their integrity despite Yaya's
ethnic-baiting policies.

And just for the record, many of the most sycophant of Yaya's supporters
are not Jola at all. I'm talking Baba Jobe, Dr. Saja Taal, Ms Fatumatta
Jahumpa Ceesay, Tamsir Jallow, etc, etc. Get my point? So, this "guilt by
association" mentality needs to go. If Mr. Kujabi puts country before
citizen (any citizen,) I fail to see why he should feel ashamed, or guilty
about what some fraud is doing in office. There's no such thing as a "group
sin" in my view: you'll only reap what you sow! So, Mr. Kujabi, go to sleep
with a clear conscience. Yaya is not a disgrace to Jolas only, he's a
disgrace to our race - PERIOD! To think that in this day, and age, we'll be
held hostage by such a despotic boffoon is unfarthomable. There's not a
single Gambian abroad who likes to watch Yaya Jammeh tapes in the presence
of non-Gambians. Do you think that's an accident? Just ask yourself that,
and you'll realize you're in big company! Just a thought...

Saul.
