Dear Haruna,
&nbsp;
I was in Conakry for a week last month with some colleagues&nbsp;to conduct a Due Diligence Review of the Insitution that Youssouf Sampil works for. Youssouf was more than a host to us, he treated us&nbsp;like family. He is a gentleman, a Pan-Africanist and a humanist.
&nbsp;
I pray fro his dad's and other political prisoners freedom.

La fronde des militaires fait des  victimes
Au moins une personne tuée et huit blessées, dont un officier, par  des 
balles perdues tirées par des militaires réclamant le paiement
d'arriérés de  
soldes et qui retenaient mardi le chef d'état-major adjoint de
l'armée, le  général 
Sampil. Cette crise qui secoue l'armée, intervient juste après la prise 
de 
fonction vendredi d'un nouveau Premier ministre Ahmed Tidiane Souaré,
proche  
du chef de l'Etat. Le mouvement a débuté lundi matin au camp Alfa Yaya
Diallo,  
situé près de l'aéroport international. Ce camp, le plus grand du pays, 
abrite  des commandos parachutistes et des troupes d'élite. Les soldats en
colère 
ont  tiré en l'air toute la journée, depuis l'intérieur de la
garnison. Pour 
appuyer  leurs revendications, ils ont séquestré le général Mamadou Sampil,
venu 
 dialoguer. Son fils, Youssouf, a apporté des précisions: "Mon papa
n'est  
plus séquestré, il est à l'intérieur du camp à la demande des
militaires en  
colère". Afp
