Every person is entitled to his or her own views and opinions about the
Gambia, and for that reason, every Gambian has the right to see the APRC as
a regim that could deliver the best for the Gambian people, or the worst.
Musa Jeng might be right in his opinion about the positive developments he
said he saw in the country during his visit, but he could also be woefully
wrong if he should allow himself to be naively deceived by the few
infrastructural developments done by the APRC government. The fact that he
talked to well educated people as he claimed, does not in anyway reflect any
improvement in the lives of ordinary Gambian or farmer. Infact i think he
must have talked to those few opportunists, he called them well educated. If
these people are well educated then they are also the worst of the educated
our country would ever produce, as they are only concerned about their own
selfish interest and cannot therefore give or tell anybody anything that is
in the best interest of the Gambia. The actions of the Jammeh regim are in
record for anybody to see and decide what. Critics of the APRC regim like
myself will not deny the fact that the regim has done some positive things
in the country, contrary to what they claim against the PPP regim that those
people did nothing for the Gambia. But no matter what, the Jammeh regim has
already stained itself with their dirty deeds against Gambian people, and
they have done far more havoc than good in the Gambia. Being a Jammeh regim
sympathizer will not alter their bad records of oppression of Gambian
people. This is the fact every honest Gambian should accept rather than try
to provide sanctuary for them.
