Hi Dr. Jeng,
Thank you for your assistance and interest. Thank you once again Mr. Camara.

However I think the Mandinka Dictionarys are all pdf files and thus do not
come with the fonts. I finally found it when opening the zip file for the
Access language database.
Another version of fonts is available at the www.mandinka.org site.

Nevertheless writing with the fonts requires to define extra
key-combinations/hotkeys to insert the particular additional signs. In the
menue under "insert, symbol" a showcard opens and allows you to visualy
select the symbol of your choice. If it is not one time thing, but you want
to do this regularly, there are two options:

1. You define an autocorrect entry (might be misleading at times) where you
define a sequence of keystrokes that will always automatically be turned
into the symbol or
2. you define a hot key sequence (example Alt-Ctrl-n) which will insert the
particular symbol.

In fact the same works for a lot of other languages. I was amazed to learn,
that for Igbo everything including spellcheck is already contained in Office
2003 and I think in 2007 Wolof is also incorporated.

By the way, I have tried to open the Access file under Office 2003, but
unfortunately was not successful.

Have a good day

Angelika Manneh

Hi Dr. Jeng,
You can download the mandinka fonts from the Gambia Resource page at:
http://resourcepage.gambia.dk . You will find it on the language page
together with Mandinka and Wollof /English dictionaries and grammer.

Best regards,
Momodou Camara
