Dear Omar(suma nijai),

My sympathies to you,  your family and the entire Gambia on the demise of John Faye. I have had the pleasure of working with him in the Board of the Commercial Agricultural Produce Enterprise(CAPE), where he was Chair and I Secretary. After a prolonged stay in the UK on treatment last year, he offered to bow out on health grounds. John was not only a civil servant, but one of the biggest farmers (especially of rice)and advocate of farmers` rights in The Gambia.

This is a great and immeasurable loss to our country and we say INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILLAIHI RAJI UN. 

Omar may Allah give you and his entire relations the fortitude to bear this loss.May his demise in this holy month be an assurance for Jannah!!!

Folk,
I have just been informed of the death of my elder cousin John Faye of 
Bakoteh . He passed away in The Senegalese Capital Dakar were he was 
undergoing medical treatment. John(Gibriel), a soil scientist, worked in 
various units of the Ministry of Agriculture. He is survived by his wife 
Mama ( Sunkary) and children.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
